Hi one and all, newbie to the forum here but kept dogs for 40 odd years now, love them all to bits, always had Lurches and Terrie's. I live in Mid Wales so plenty of space for me and my companions. My dogs are a very important part of my life, through the ups and downs they have been there. Looking forward to hopefully contributing to this forum.
Kind regards JB

Thanks for the warm welcome, I have 2 lurchers at present, my lovely little Jacko Tilley passed away end of last year, so Bryn is 7yrs and 1/2 greyhound 1/2 bearded collie and Jess is 1yr 1/2 greyhound 1/2 Welsh border collie, both rough coated, such characters.

Oh, they are gorgeous! I've always said I don't do collie x lurchers - the combination of lurcher larcenry and collie brains would turn them into master criminals :D (And I'm also lazy, so I don't want a dog asking if we can move on to simultaneous equations because 'sit' just isn't challenging enough;))

Fantastic, you understand lurchers truly. I've bred deer-hound into the mix before but always like a bit of collie in there as well for intelligence.

My Jasper (greyhound/deerhound/Bedlington/Irish terrier) is surprisingly clever in some ways (I told him once we couldn't go out yet because we were waiting for a friend and he ran to the front window to look out) ... but extremely dense in others (he got stuck in the kitchen because I'd left a mop bucket in the doorway... he's 30" tts for Lord's sake!). I'm assuming the brainy bits come from the terriers.

My very first Lurcher I named Jasper, 1/4 deerhound /1/4 rough coated collie/1/2 greyhound, his memory is still deep in my heart.

Hi and welcome,lovely dogs!:):)

It has been said in the past by my dear wife and children that I think more of my hounds than I do of them:( I love them just the same with all my heart:)
