Help!!

My Katie is 8 months old and she has just come into season, swollen and dripping blood.

It's the constant licking that's making me feel :x I keep having to remind myself that she's a good girl for keeping herself clean but...

How long does the actual bleeding bit go on for...3ish days?

poor dee dee,if i can remember the bleeding lasts for 2 weeks and the season 3 weeks in total or around that length of time, hope it goes quick for you all.

apparently the 1st season is the one with the most blood loss, so it can only get better.

Ella sends sympathy :huggles: she is having her 2nd season ( 1st at 11 mths ) she gets very quiet, sleeps EVEN MORE than usual and takes to her bed in her cage and looks terribly sad and morose, and she sometimes cries....which she hardly ever does out of season, I feel so sorry for her, the worst part is she can't run free and looks so sad.

Her 1st season went on for 5 weeks !

Hope DeeDee gets over it soon :luck: :luck:

Well Savannah bleeds for 4 weeks straight - though that is unusual. Teya had discharge for the full 3 weeks, as did most of my dachsies when I was younger.

We use whippet panties on them to keep the house clean, but I have to say the licking doesn't bother me too much - but then I grew up with bitches.

Mine noticably bleed for up to a couple of weeks heavier at first, the licking can be a bit :x but better than allover your furniture so she's being a good girl

If the bleeding seems to have stopped you'll still need to watch her like a hawk, Spry became very flirty around her most fertile time,in fact she was a total tart :* :teehee: poor Kane was a bit frightened by her flaunting herself at him he was only 7 months  I think he would have different feelings about it now though

My Holly has just come into season for the first time, she's 9 months. At the moment Frankie isn't interested, but i think Holly will be going on a little holiday to her auntie Rachel's house soon! :)

My Willow just come into season - her first - at 16months! bit dissapointed going to be missing the show we entered for this sunday but at least shes had it out the way for crufts! :sweating: i was getting abit worried!

Today is day 4 of bleeding, it's about the same, but she's more swollen now. Also, she's wanting to spend a lot of time on her own, which is so out of character. Normally in the evenings, she spends all night trying to worm up onto the sofa for cuddles, or at least sleeping on her duvet at out feet, but last night she took herself off to her crate in the kitchen after dinner, and didnt come out again until bedtime for her wee :(

She normally asks to be picked up for cuddle too, but when I picked her up this morning, she struggled to get down and go back in her bed! Poor baby.

The funniest thing is, she keeps climbing onto the back of the futon in the study so she can see out of the window. There's a rather attractive Weimeramer (sp?) called Gelert in the garden that backs on to us, and she's become obsessed at staring at him with little whines! Everytime she goes into the garden too, she runs straight to the back fence and starts sniffing and whining - the little floozy!

Pimms had her first season ( at 8mths) a few weeks ago. She was really quiet for the first day and wanted loads of cuddles :)) . Then she got really swollen, and her season lasted for 3 whole weeks. Now back to normal thankfully, it wasnt as bad as I had thought it might be.

:huggles:
