I am a proud owner of a 8 week old patterdale. I have had 2 Patties previously

I am worried because my puppy ‘Rae’ is urinating a lot. Just had a sample checked out by vet and they said she has not got a UTI ‍

I love em,if I wasn't such a Border T nut pats would of been my go to terrier. Hope the kennel club never get there grubby hands on them.

OOOOOOOOOOOOH....lovely little terrier! She...he?
My little one when she was a young, she drank a lot, right little sloppy mouth and of course, wee'd too. But she was always 'on a go'...chewing...playing etc....and she seemed to be quite warm creature and preferred to sleep more on floor than on any soft surfaces too. She was always in 'over drive' with her behaviour. Your dog is black too and being summer...they tend to almost 'absorb' the sun's heat.
So I'm just wondering...maybe yours is VERY active too and tends to be gulping water a lot? What goes in must come out too...

I just wished that people made sure they went to homes that understood them ...there are so many in rescue as people ruin them from pups ....your girl is lucky to have you

Too much terrier for me, and I do have plenty of experience of working Patts! Definitely not for the faint-hearted, but bold and good-looking dogs.

I remember a couple of years ago (@excuseme and @JudyN were around then, @lurcherman was MIA, not sure about others) a youngster came on here asking about Patterdales as a first family dog. And also on another forum I use. Everyone said please don't but her father wouldn't settle for anything else because they liked the look, not even a border terrier which was suggested for looking very terrier-ish but less extreme. So they got the puppy, and a few days later came back to tell us we were all wrong and it was the sweetest little puppy imaginable. Yeah, right ... I still wonder from time to time what happened to it.

Thank you all for your kind words. I had my last Patties for 16 years (brother and sister), made a few mistakes but won’t be fooled second time around.

Hi,
They said one of them was too high risk. I live on corner plot and have gardens all around. Even though they are sectioned off outside kitchen/dining room. This could not be seen on google street maps. I had spoken to my vet re difficulties with epilepsy and put a front gate on, all to no avail. They have been with a lovely foster family for a long time, just hoping they will keep them.

Thats such a shame ...i dont think the foster family will keep them ...they often have to go back into kennels. ...they could have had a lovely home with you
