What night will this take place?
WE WAS THINKING SATURDAY SO ITS EASY TO TRAVEL, THEN WE REALISED THIS COULD INTERFER WITH ANY OTHER BEND COMPS. SO IT MAYBE WEDNESDAY ??

Who would be doing the timing in and handicapping, is it going to be run by the Highgate Staff????

IF WE DO THIS IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT AND DONE ONLY BY HIGHGATE STAFF.

As whippeteers are happy for their dogs to have 2 runs as a rule would they be timed in and graded races made up on the same night ?

think it sound good  just not sure how many would make it mid week but good luck with it :luck:

All dogs would have to be graded up same as greyhounds and the format will stay the same.

One run = prize money

assuming a win. The dogs runs will be recorded into a database same as the greyhounds and graded on their runs

We appreciate all your comments keep em coming and then we can clarify dates etc. If enough interest is generated. Any ideas to what whippet patrons want please post. what nights etc.

The first I knew about it was last night when I had a phone call asking if it was me and Hazel doing it.

dave size wont matter in this as its going to be run like greyhounds are, it all goes on time thats it no classes just simple grading races... good idea, should be well attended especially with a bookie on

what about friday nights, start of the weekend think its a good idea :)

Just a question or two --firstly would there have to a vet in attendance

secondly would you be jepardising whippet racing with gambling--

should be lots of thought before --

when i requested help from our local council this was one of the first things asked--tread carefuly

i think if u wanted people 2 travel it wud have to be a sat or sun. people work thru the week.

yes there would be a vet in attendence. Kennelling is a option NOT a rule. Transportantion of dogs is common sense "just do not endanger your animals" there are no rules in transportation. We would like to hold a meeting regarding this matter of jeopardising whippet racing this is something we do not want to do. Our aim was to move forward with whippet racing. We see all the time and devotion put into the whippets that race and think its about time people see what profesionalism there is in the whippet racing.

Whippet racing is not a flat cap, ferret group of people and everyone should be able to enjoy the buzz of whippet racing. Our aim is to gather your opinions and bring it forward with your help of course
