Hi Everyone,

Just wondered if anyone had any good recommendations for holiday cottages where dogs are welcome?

I have just the one whippet, but would love to take him somewhere where he will be welcome. I have searched the internet and there is too much choice! I'm sure someone here must know of the perfect retreat :))

Just wanted to chill out, do some walking, maybe cycling. Near some water where Ollie could swim, would also be great.

Thank you!

Zoe

Try the National Trust holiday cottages. We use them regularly. Fabulous cottages in really great locations. Some don't take dogs, but many do

I think there's a scottish one too (national trust for scotland??) and also the Forestry Commission do cottages, log cabins and chalets in the woods... forest holidays

and there's this site: cottages

Thanks Helen.

Just looking at the National Trust one. Its a very good site, really easy to search, and the cottages look perfect.

I'm pretty sure I'll find something. Thanks very much. :))

We have had some great holidays in and around the yourkshire dales and Moors. The moorse are near Whitby, Bridlington, fyley and scarbourgh. Blakes country cottages are worth a try. :))

Those holiday chalets and cabins look really good - Thanks for the links.

We're staying at a cottage for a week in Wales soon. I booked about 6 months ago. I found it mostly by just putting pet friendly or pets welcome into a google search along with the area I wanted to stay.

We stayed in the Forestry Commission cabins in Deerpark, Cornwall over the summer - excellent except for the horseflies. We didn't take the boys, but some people had dogs.

Hmmm - think staying in anywhere called Deerpark may be tempting fate! I think thsi would be Archie & Josie's dream holiday location

if you look up the DogsTrust website or contact the Dogs Trust, they have an arrangement with a large holiday cottage rental agents with lots of dog-friendly cottages and Dogs Trust gets a commission if you rent through them
