We have good neighbours who tolerate us and the dogs. We give them pheasant breasts, sometimes plucked whole birds, and eggs from our bantams. In return we get happy neighbours and in the summer. some of their lovely home grown vegetables.

We do a lot of trading, I'll trade a couple of rabbits for a pheasant or even for some seasonal veg. It's a great system that works great.

??? This seems a bit of a non sequitor to my observation it wouldn’t have been happy days for the birds and rabbits!

I wish I could do this... I'm not a fan of hunting for pleasure at all, but it has to be so much more sustainable and better for animal welfare than farmed animals.

Had some DAF pheasant mince last year. My racing whippets absolutely loved it. Claws, eyes, beak etc.
