hi there, I wonder if anyone can offer some advise? we have fourwhippets the parents and two pups (now 11months). There were eight pups in the litter and from a very early stage we took the pups outside at regular intervals - on waking after food etc., and they all got into the way of relieving themselves outside - even the pups who went onto their new homes at 9 weeks were choosing to go outside - and have been very good - however our wee girl will always choose to go inside - the conservatory is the dog house and the floor is easily cleaned, but she will actually go out of the house, through the patio and in the dog flap and the 'pee' inside! If she is out on a run, lots of little toilets like she is spraying the teritorry - but if it is raining - she won't venture out.
We have tried, taking her a walk on the lead up in the garden, and she will do it - or watching her intently for signs so that we can get her outside and we praise her when she done her stuff - but every day we find a little present from her - it doesn't matter if we are in or out of the house - she was choosing to 'pee' on one the the beds at one point - and we were in the house ? consequently we close all the doors now so she doesn't have freedom of the house - and our back door is always open so that all the dogs can get outside if they want to play in the garden - or they are in the conservatory if we are out and have access to outside through the dog flap.....
We are getting exasperated now as we have renovated the whole house to accommodate our dogs more than anything....besides, praise, encouragement and physically putting here outside and standing over her till she does her buisness - anyone have any other advise?
yours hopefully
