 Help  - I'm flying to Chicago tomorrow, never travelled before - I'm travelling alone - I'm panicking big time here!!

I have to find my way through Heathrow (not terminal 5 :sweating: ) work out where to check in and what plane to get on  - then I have to do immigration at O'Hare - Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!

And there is also the problem of being a million miles up in the air - I might end up sat next to some mad person............................... :teehee:

And I'll have no k9 for 16 days

and worse EVEN than that I have to leave my Dogs here - Alfie and Daisy will be fine but my baby bluebell is so used to having me here all the time and she sleeps in my bed and I tell her she's beautiful at least 349 times a day - what's she going to do without me!?! and me her :b

hi clair,

you will be fine hun, there are always lots of people to help you at the airport, i went to america a few years back, and it takes ages to get through customs, all that finger printing and questions

i am not a good flyer at all, scares the life out of me, but stay calm and you will be fine, take a good book or have a sleep

i really hope you have a great time, you will forget all about the traveling when you get there

we will all be here when you get back, wanting to hear all about you trip, so make sure you take lots of pic's

your dogs will be fine, and will be soo pleased to see you back, but dont spend your time worrying about them, enjoy your trip

Thank you - kind of looking forward to coming home, just to get the welcome (w00t)

And to bore you all stiff with photo's

When I flew to Florida I thought the answer would be a few stiff brandys - It didnt work and made me ill :x - so I'd advise not to drink alcohol..

Each time I have travelled to the States on my own I have been sat next to someone really interesting. Also the Americans are so friendly and helpful you won't feel lost at all.

Have a super trip, you lucky person. :D

We'll miss you but look forward to lots of pics

Pauline

First of all have a really good trip, hope you have a great time and don't forget to take lots of pics for us

My sister really anxious when she has to fly and last time she went abroad, someone recommended Bach rescue remedy, she said it really helped it is a spry or drops you squirt in to your mouth.

You can find more info on here http://www.rescueremedy.co.uk/RESCUE-Products_pg5.aspx

Hope this helps

Have a fantastic time when you get there wont you...

i hope the flight is good to you... I recomend Bachs Rescue Remedy too...its brilliant stuff...I use it on a regular basis.

and some lavendar oil to relax you too.....yes and definitely dont drink alchohol....loads of water instead to keep you hydrated and feeling fresh.

Good luck... :luck: :luck:

Hi ya,

Are you going on a holiday or working? or....

Listen the thing is to relax and take everything step by step and when you get to the airport don't be afraid to ask for assistance thats what the staff are there for you can tell a stewardess thats its your first time flying and your a bit nervous and they will look out for you

and if you get sat beside a pain in the A..... tell the stewardess

and if the plane is not full, she will find you another seat  basically don't put up with stuff but yes, you might get sat beside somebody very nice!!

Once you get on that plane and you settle, it will be fine infact it can be really pleasant :))

i agree about the Bach rescue remedy it just takes the edge off

and as for your babies well, yes i too am in a right state leaving Finbarr, but you know, as soon as your gone they just get on with it and then they are so happy when you return!!

and most of all you must enjoy yourself, its a great thing to be off to Chicargo

Have a brilliant time and don't worry :)) :)) :)) :))

All the very best

Rachel & Finbarr xx
