My poor old girl Moggie is going to the vet this afternoon as I've just discovered a small lump on her eyelid and she keeps rubbing it.

It's her twelfth birthday on Saturday and she HATES going the vet. I'm going to have to bribe her all the way with treats but she's going to HATE me for taking her.

What if it's something serious??? How can she have a 'fatty' lump on her eyelid - the lump touches her eyeball too but her eye's not watering.

Now I feel like Mrs Really-Horrible-Person for having to take her :( and Mrs Really-Very-Worried all rolled into one

i had a problem with my dog last summer that sounds the same thing.

the eye lids have glands and if one gets blocked it starts to grow.

they do need removing because they end up under the lid and possible ulcers then can occur on the eye ball .hope moggie is ok after the vets, mine hate the vets too.

Hope everything goes ok at the vets, know what you mean about feeling guilty though, ours put the brakes on as soon as you get near the steps to go up to the surgery. For Morgan :huggles:

Good luck Moggie at the vets, :luck: :luck: we too have had a trip there this week. :(

Good Luck Morgan :luck: :luck: Hope she's ok :huggles:

We're back. Moggie wasn't too bad this time. I had Zoomie with me so I think she just thought she was there to keep him company

The vet said her lump is a small wart and just to keep an eye on it in case it gets any bigger - it's not hurting her eye at the moment. She's also got one on her bum :b They're not going to remove it from her eye yet because that would mean a general anaesthetic and her age is a risk factor.

So my poor dignified elderly lady had her bottom squeezed and a huge pile of treats in the car which she had no bother scoffing so she's just fine  She's now going to have her 'senior diet' dinner with some sardines for being good

(Zoomie had his booster and screamed like a girl :( :b   )

Glad to hear it's nothing too serious.

Couldn't help chuckling over your pun. :b

My sympathies, ours has developed a vet phobia after his emergency trip at Xmas. It is getting better though, he only remembered he didn't like it about a minute after we went into the consulting room last time, and did a blurred cartoon turn in the opposite direction. After persuading him there was a huge number of squirrels in the tree outside he actually forgot about the examination.

Glad to hear it wasn't anything too serious. :luck:

:D Glad to hear it's nothing to worry about :huggles: Amber who is 13 has several warty & fatty lumps. None of them bother her so I won't do anything about them

I'm glad your dog got on ok. :)

One of my whippets Badger shakes so much at the vets you can hear his teeth chatter. it sounds like castanets.

Pleased Morgan is OK - bet she was pleased that her bottom can still attract interest at her age 8)
