This is something that really happened but i have tried to make it suitable for young children at a junior school so would love your hones veiws on it.
There was once a big called big Bob man so big he had trouble getting through doors. One day he had to go to the hospital and asked his friend William to take him in his car. While they were ready to go they went down the passageway to the front door there they had to pass the emergency panic button. William held the door open for big Bob but his rear end was so big it pressed the button on the emergency panic station. Neither William nor Big Bob noticed this as sometimes it takes a long time for them to answer the call. Of they went to the hospital none the wiser for what was about to happen. They arrived at the hospital in time for the appointment which took a long time and then William had to take Big Bob up to the doctors for him to see the nurse. He waited and waited and again Big Bob was in there a long long time. When he came out William took him home and dropped him off William then went to visit some friends. When he arrived back in the afternoon he could not get into his apartment because someone had broken his locks. He noticed a note pinned to the door which said that an emergency had arisen and they had had to break open the door but new keys were over at the call centre. William went over to the call centre to get the new keys and was told that the emergency panic button had been pressed and they had answered it and that he (William) had kept saying hello then saying things that they could not understand. When he said he had not been in the flat so could not have said these things he then realised what had happened and that it was Charlie the parrot that they had heard speaking but the lady operator said it was William because she recognised the voice. William laughed when she said this and explained that Charlie could copy his voice perfectly. She then explained she had called his son but he told her he could not come over because he was in London at that precise moment and it would take him too long to get there. She then called the paramedics and the police to enter the flat to check whether William was seriously ill or if he had had a fall and could not get up. When the police and paramedics could not get any answer to the knocking at the door or ringing of the bell they then broke the locks on the door to gain entry. When they got in the found no-one in the flat and this they could not explain. Now every time William goes out of the door he has to press the emergency panic alarm button and inform them he is going out so if the button is pressed accidentally they do not send anyone over to break the door down again.
