I think you are taking all this very calmly , I m pretty sure I would be demanding the distruction of the German shepherd or at least muzzled full time ,
I agree; I probably would be asking for that if it had made direct mouth contact.

There was a point where ALL the local GSDs (and 1 boxer) were muzzled, and one had a court order to keep it on a lead. I don't know whether these were for dog-on-dog incidents though. I stopped giving any guarding/bull breeds the benefit of the doubt long ago; if I see any now I give them a very wide berth. OH would have too, but just couldn't see it was there because the Post box hid his view as he turned the corner :(

I'm so glad that Gelert is feeling better, he did look so utterly miserable in the picture. Let's hope it heals nice and quickly so he can enjoy some lure coursing to end the season. :luck:

Great thanks to Olivia too  ;)   :D
 Glad to help. I know she feels terrible about it. I think Maggie (GSD) is feeling a bit vulnerable at the moment as her old friend, who was extremely defensive and protective of her all her life, has just been PTS. Poor Maggie now feels it is her duty to protect the whole family and she's not coping well at the moment. I think in time she'll get used to it as in general she is a happy and gentle dog. I think it was just a case of unfortunate timings and maybe her owner will have to be more vigilant for a while while Maggie gets used to her new position in the family.
