Aw, sad faced Gelert :( I hope he's feeling better soon. He and Josie will be able to compare wounds (although Gelert should get much more sympathy because his wasn't self-inflicted!) :huggles:

Poor Gelert - that is a sad face :( Get Well soon Gelert - poor boy. :huggles: Hope mum is looking after you well

Just to say he is a lot better :) and not too sore (judging by his enthusiasm for lead-only walks). Even managed an extra crisp after his dinner today :- " They do recover and cheer up remarkably quickly.

Also, the lady with the GSD came around to see how he was, and paid the vet's bill. It's good to know that there are some decent people; so many owners seem to go into denial after an incident, or just don't care anyway.

Apparently it was her older child holding the lead, not her. Something for people with kids to take into consideration perhaps - a child probably won't be able to hold on to a lead in this sort of situation, regardless of whether the dog they are holding is pursuer or pursued :sweating:  If our dog had got away over the fence, he would have been straight into a main road.

Great thanks to Olivia too ;) :D

Glad Gelert is feeling a bit better :huggles:

Crazy how some people let children hold the leads of dogs that must be all of their body weight and more  Josie's first ever run in with another dog was a massive doberman with a tiny 13 year old girl hanging onto the end of the lead for dear life. Very frightening! I am so glad your GSD woman has been so good, Elizabeth. That must make it a little bit easier, knowing you don't have to argue with someone and have all that stress!

Poor Gelert , :(

I think you are taking all this very calmly , I m pretty sure I would be demanding the distruction of the German shepherd or at least muzzled full time ,

I m sorry but why should dogs be around to do things like that . Guarding instint or not that dog is a dangerous animal , what if a child had been holding Gelert (w00t) and he couldnt have got away .
