Just had Tink jabbed today ready for her passport (as her and Reg only had their first puppy jab as babes last year befor we got the cough, and I never got around to their 2nd jab :b ) ......She is now lame, quiet and very sleepy ...... Has anyone else experienced this ?? ...... I must say this isn't the first dog I've owned whos reacted to being jabbed, (my last one being my show bred Greyhound) but she will certainly be the last I ever have jabbed, wether I'm allowed a passport or not !!!

I would have thought that the safe homeopathic alternative to boosters would have been accepted by now.Even a lot of boarding kennels will now accept this!

When all said & done, vets are now supposed to be following the new guidelines that yearly boosters are NOT needed,& once every 3 years is enough!

Poor Tink :( ,hope she feels better soon :huggles:

Gillie had her jab today, she is a seven year old rehome,we did ask the vet if it was

really necessary and would a titer test be better but she felt that a lot of the research has not been proven and if she was not jabbed the consequences could be dire.

Gillie slept like a log on her return home but is back to her normal self now.

Hannah,

about 12 years ago we had a perfectly happy/healthy 12 week old pup collapse on us after having her 2nd jab, we'd just reached home (2 minute drive from vets) so went straight back down she was limp tongue blue, eyes glazed ect.

the vet gave her a few jabs and she can round slowly our vet said it was un unusual reaction but not unheard of?.

I hope Tink is her normal bright self soon. :huggles: ..once they get a passport do you still have to get jabed? do you get checked?

Its a bit worrying

Poor little Tinks. I hope that she's okay by now and is up and Tinking again.

thats good news hannagh, I tend to get my dogs boosted every year untill they are three :- " then every two years lol

shazxx

I was under the impression that it is a requirement of the WCRA that all dogs have to have a booster every year to be able to get their passport stickers. Unless it has changed, I thought that club secretaries were supposed to check vacination cards before issuing passport stickers. We still have ours done every year. If all dogs aren't vaccinated then surely this leaves many dogs vulnerable.

The WCRA new ruling is that ALL pups HAVE to have their first year jabs to be able to get their passports, then after that its up to their owners jab wise ......

So pleased Tinks is feeling a lot better to-day :huggles:

(w00t) Tink quiet ??????

Well Tink says that's what Tinks do best  .....No doubt if you are lucky enough you could also be Tinked at the BSFA (though I will be stood at the gate handing out full body armour and face guards to those who pay me enough :teehee: )
