really sorry youve lost Jack , you did the right thing for him

RIP JACK

No consolation at the moment but you have done everything you possibly could for Jack, i know it would have been a hard decision to come to terms with but it was the only decision, you did what any good dog people would do and put him first.

RIP Jack xx

Thank you for all your support and kind words :huggles:

I don't know what to say really, the news came as a massive shock to both of us. We were convinced the ultrasound would spot a foreign body, everything would be cleared up and he'd be back home recovering.

Rachel Burrows, a European Specialist in small animal surgery examined Jack and she too initally had this opinion and while I'm sure Paul Evans is dissapointed at the outcome, I hope he takes comfort in the fact that he managed Jack's treatment extremely well and we are grateful to both these excellent vets and the care they provided.

Alas, it wasn't meant to be and while it hurts that we'll never see Jack get old and grey, I wouldn't for a second change anything because ultimately he went before he experienced any suffering.

He was a fantastic dog who I believe would die defending his family and pack. A feisty lad that would turn into a playful puppy with the youngsters no matter how annoying they'd be, a beloved dog that would happily let Sam swing off his neck all day, a pack leader that would keep harmony in the gang and was respected by the pack and a dog that regardless of his size and assertivness, was always obediant, tolerant and keen to please. Rest In Peace Jack, you'll be sorely missed.
