It is with a broken heart that I post this, but our very special little whippet Jesse has lost his fight with cancer. :( :( Most of you will know that almost a year ago Jesse had his hind leg amputated after being diagnosed with bone cancer (osteosarcoma). He recovered quickly and lived his life to the full again, running around as well as he had before, but despite 6 sessions of chemotherapy the cancer returned, this time in his lungs and continued to spread. :( :(

Jesse put up such a fight to stay with us, but on Sunday 17th August at 10:15 a.m laying in his favourite spot in our back garden, with the warm sun shining on his back and his family all around him the vet put him to rest. :( :(

Jesse, we never imagined that 10 years ago when we bought you home at just 8 1/2 weeks old how much pleasure you would bring to our lives and for that we are eternally grateful. :huggles: You taught us how to love such a beautiful breed  and the day you entered our lives our family was complete. :huggles: :huggles:

Thank you Jesse for filling the last 10 years of our lives with such love, laughter, cuddles and happiness.

The memories we have made together will stay with us forever, and we will miss you every minute of every day. You really were our very special little man, who was adored by us and all those who met you. :huggles:

No longer in our lives, but forever in our hearts. Run free our special little man, until we meet again. :huggles:

Your two Mummy's Sonia, Emma (xxwhippetloverxx), Daddy Dave, Kelly and Shaun xxxxxx

I'm crying again Sonia - but so glad you felt strong enough to write that lovely tribute to Jesse, your beautiful boy. I feel priviledged to have met him, and you and your lovely family. Whippets need people like you, and someday I hope to see you with another whippet to love. I hope you will still be posting on K9, and joining in the chat I know you have been enjoying. Your friends are here for you, and we need you here too :huggles:

RIP Jesse - run free beautiful boy, with the other wonderful whippets who have gone before xx

:( RIP JESSE :huggles:

Memories are Golden

They say memories are golden.

Well, maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories

I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

A million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you,

You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place

No one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway,

And heartache make a lane.

I'd walk the path to heaven,

And bring you home again.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one,

The chain will link again.
