Over the weekend Jinny has been sneezing and coughing - not huge amounts but it isn't normal :(

She's OK in herself, playing and eating normally and, at the moment, no sign of swollen glands. Also no sign of mucus or temperature.

Problem is, I've got to go away for 4 day meeting and I know I am going to really worry - especially as Ella is still so young and liable to pick up any infection :( My husband will be here but he's not very observant and probably won't notice any change in them

As we are so isolated where we live, none of my dogs are ever in a situation where they meet other dogs apart from the occasional neighbour but I wondered if anyone knows how long Bordatella (kennel cough) incubates for because my builder brought his border terrier here on Saturday and they were playing together - I noticed the first cough/sneeze from Jinny on Saturday night :(

Have anyone else's dogs been sneezing or coughing lately???

im sorry hear jinny is a bit unwell, no advice im afraid, but i hope you get her sorted :huggles:

:luck: :luck:

aww dont they worry you ,hope shes feeling better soon :huggles:

She's not got involved with the building work has she? - plaster/concrete dust is quite good at causing allergic reactions!

Hope she feels better soon - and you can stop worrying :))

That's a thought .... but it's an external american barn so unlikely, although she has been playing in the mounds of sand which is going to be used for the floor?........ but she's been doing that for about 2 or 3 weeks now so probably not that.

Thanks tho', hadn't thought of allergies  .....maybe she's allergic to Ella (w00t) (w00t)

"maybe she's allergic to Ella"

if this is the case jane...........best you send jinny to me :- " :D

sorry to hear about jinny not been well,i think kennel cough can be transmitted from an infected dog from days to weeks later, they have a dry hacking cough with lots of inward sneezing which can last between 7 to 21 days.

hope she hasnt got k/c and is better real soon.for jinny :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

Poor Jinny, hope she will be ok :huggles: :huggles: ............... maybe she playing up because she knows you are going away :- "

poor Jinny :huggles: hope she is feeling better soon

i've been told that kc usually takes 7-10 days to incubate,

if Ella is anything like her dad she'll have the constitution of an ox but if you are worried about Ella catching something you could always send her back oop north for Amos to play with :D

Thank you for the well wishes everyone :D

So far today she's only sneezed twice and that was this morning :)

Hopefully it will pass without any problems - maybe just a minor cold

Hely - Jinny says thanks for the invite, she's packing her bag as I write and wants to know if Gypsy is ready to give up her pack leader status????? :- "

Becka - Ella is dying to show off her new, super fit, physique to Amos (w00t) She wants him to know that she can beat Jinny over a 20 yard sprint and she's working on the stamina to do the longer distances too!!!

my sister lives nr Paignton, Devon and 2 of her dogs have recently had kennel cough, it took some time to clear but they are well now, her poor old girl took longer to recover.

hope it is nothing but a couple of sneezes

Hope Jinny continues to improve. kennel cough is about again!! When my whippies had it last year the youngest one had it first and my eldest went down with it 3 days later!!Hopefully she does not have it :luck:

Don't know if it helps but I was talking to my vet about kennel cough the other day [when Ruby had a puppy vacs]. She said not to worry about it. She said boarding kennel owners always want dogs to be vaccinated because it spresds like wildfire but that the cough itself is nothing to worry about.

No advice from me unfortunately.

But Logi sends special get well licks to Jinny and hopes she's feeling better soon :huggles:
