My mam and dad look after a little Westie called Judy, for a neighbour who has to work away. He lives a few doors from Mam and dad in the same street.

Anyway Dad had taken Judy for her last walk on Friday night and went down to let her out Saturday morning around 8 am and found her dead... which was a terrible shock for them both. She was about 12 but seemed to be in good health.

RIP Little Judy :( :huggles:

Awww poor old girl :'( :'( :'(

R.I.P Judy

What an awful position for your dad to have been in :( I hope he has got over the shock a little and that the neighbour is ok :huggles:

RIP JUDY :(

It was my mam Lesley - she was in tears yesterday, because she'd had her clipped the day before.... and thought it may have caused her stress and shed had a heart attack. Ive tried to tell her not to blame herself its just one of those things, just so sad it had to happen while they were looking after her. :(

Anyway a relative came and helped them to bury her in the garden. :(

Im using this poem put onto the forum... for Judy :huggles:

Im free dont grieve for me

Im following the path God laid for me

I took his hand when I heard him call

I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day

To run to to love to work or play

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found my peace at the close of day

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy

A friendship shared, a touch a kiss

Ah yes, these things I too will miss

My lifes been full Ive savoured much

Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tommorow

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief

Dont lengthen it now with undue grief

Lift up your hearts and share with me

God wanted me now, he set me free

What a lovely way for little Judy to cross the Rainbow bridge - asleep in her own basket, with people she loved nearby. I hope the same happens to my old dogs when their time comes.

I'm so sorry for the distress it caused your mum, Janis but she should comfort herself that she did all she could for her friend's dog and the coincidence of getting her cut shortly before it happened is fairly typical that we look for something to be the cause when really, it was just her time to go. (Not well put, but I hope you understand what I mean) I'm sure she feels worse because she had care of a dog that wasn't her own too. I guess the owner must so appreciate all your parents did for their little girl.

RIP Judy.

What a shock for your Mum to find her. :( She mustn't blame herself though Jan, as I'm sure Judy would have been used to being clipped and it would not have caused her any stress. Sadly it probably was just her time to go.
