5/5 Stars!
Hi, I recently bought Rox a new harness, and I am so impressed with it I had to write this review for you guys to see
I originally went for a different brand, blueberry pet, which was nice looking but the fit wasn't right and it wasn't very adjustable so I decided to pay a few extra quid for a nice Julius K9 one, which I've heard good things about, and the reviews were good on Amazon.
First of all, it was confusing because they have a few different types with only slight differences and with weird names like power harness 162p2 so more coded than named. I went for one of the newer ones, the 16IDC-C-0 IDC Powerharness. This is slightly different to the older 162p2. The former has a sloped look whereas the latter has a straight one, the sloped means that it's not as high on the chest/neck.
Here she is, posh girl...
This is such a good quality, sturdy harness. I went for UV orange to go with her lead that I already had and it's really nice. Loads of other colours and designs available such as dark pink, dark blue, aqua, camouflage, black, pink flowers, union jack, neon green, and more!!...
The sizing is so important, she was sort of between sizes at 51cm around the widest part of her ribcage which is how they tell you to measure.
So I could have got either the mini-mini which would have been 40cm-53cm. Or the mini which is 49cm-67cm.
I went for the mini, because the whole reason I wanted a new harness was to let her armpits heal from her bad allergy flare up, so getting the mini ensured that I could adjust it enough that it was away from her armpits. If the size is too small, I think it can sit too far forward and rub their armpits, on their sizing guide, it says to allow two fingers width between the elbow and belly strap for small dogs, and a 4 fingers width for larger dogs. However as some people have experienced, a size too big can be easily backed out of!
Plus another thing I didn't think of is being able to fit a coat underneath the harness, a mini-mini probably wouldn't have allowed me to do that.
So sizing was crucial for this harness to do what I want it to do! I'm so glad I went for the bigger size.
Really easy to put on, just over the head and fastens with a strap around the ribs, both belly strap and chest strap are adjustable, the belly one with a clip and the chest with strong velcro.
The handle on top has come in handy if I have to quickly grab her when she's off lead, and it has velcro on so you can flatten it if you want to, minimising risk of getting caught on something.
The patches on both sides that say Julius on are removable so you can add a patch with their name or anything on (sold on Amazon, eBay etc) which I will look at doing soon! Plus the patch is glow in the dark, which is really cool, not sure if personalised ones will be, guess it depends.
The only negative I have is its not the most secure in the car, she has a seatbelt that just clips onto her harness, and when we got to our destination/home she had managed to get one leg out (she is a wriggler though!) This probably happened because there is no strap between the front legs, but I like that about this harness. There is an extra strap you can buy which goes between the legs and attaches to both belly and chest straps so good one to have for the car, that's on the shopping list too, just for car purposes! To be fair I don't take her in the car much so it's not a big issue really.
Here's a link to the Amazon page, it was £24.99 for her size and colour (price varies with colour and sizes) so not majorly expensive but more than I've ever paid for a harness, but so worth it!

I hope this review helps and hope it wasn't too lengthy and boring! Because I've just noticed how much I've written!
If you need a good strong harness that looks nice, pay a bit extra and go for this! Measure your dog carefully and adjust it correctly and it shouldn't rub or be escapable!
Feel free to ask any questions I haven't covered and I'd be happy to post more pictures from different angles or just of the harness if anyone wants
