Just thought i'd share my thoughts with you this morning...

When i was younger i had a whippet... CHAMP i called him... well it would have been his birthday today... he was my 5th birthday present... the best dog that i've ever owned... sounds soppy but at 5 years old through to my 18th he was the best friend anyone could wish for... unfortunately all of photos of him is put away in the garage so i cant post any on here... he was an handsome fawn boy...

thoughts of him never leave me...

I knos what you mean, I had a jack russel from me being 2 years old uo to me being 17 years old.

She was brill, she went everywhere with me and if she she couldn't go with me she sat on the window sill watching and waiting untill I came home.

You never forget and still love them even when they've been gone for a long time

The memories you have of your old friends are always a great pick me up, :) whenever i go to hang out the washing i look across the fields at the back where our old girl Bonny used to chase the every elusive hare that was almost as big as she was, just brings a smile to my face, shes buried in the garden under the tree facing the fields so hopefully she will have cought the begger by now.

aww I'm missing Chloe and The Doof. Doof is food spelled backwards and he was my big black lurcher/lab cross. I was desperate for a dog when I was a kid and eventually got Doofy when I was nineteen. I loved him to bit and we went everywhere together - he taught me everything there is to know about dogness

Here he is sitting behind my first whippet when she was a yearling - she's twelve now

Doof looked a lovely boy  :huggles:

Is that Morgan with him?

Yes that's Morgan (Moggie  ). Doofie's formal name was Seb after Johann Sebastian Bach.

And that's a younger, slimmer me :b

that is a lovely thought and he must have been very special to you. :huggles:

The first dog we had that was "mine" was a bluebrindle boy called Bluey. I was two when we got him and he lived for 14 years. Strangely enough, Mac is so similar in personality (and ears), reminds me so much of the old boy
