Hiya,

what beautiful autumn colour changes, even through the showers ! just got back from Coniston, stayed in one of Beatrix Potters old farms, which was used for the making of the film 'Miss Potter'

Caroline and Jon are lovely hosts with a charming place to stay, THE most fantastically comfortable beds and food that is really scrummy. This time we had the room with the big circular double bath and candles)

Yewtree Farm is a full working farm with 3 double guest rooms refurbished to a very high standard, fell walkers can stop off for cream teas etc.

(been on k9 about 3 yrs and still dim with posting pics :b , but they have a website

Yew-tree Farm.co.uk )

Sorry I didn't take my cozzie for the outdoor hot tub.

They even do romantic (weather permitting ) champagne picnics, where they meet you at a sunset spot and you don't even have to carry so much as a corkscrew yourself ;)

Better book our next trip before you all book it up :D

We've been twice now and will definately be going back again....A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN

sounds like you had a lovely time.............

Oh what a wonderful romantic get away, I did some of the Beatrix Potter stuff around windamere last year, its somehow mind blowing to see where all of those wonderful stories have been created and as a person she has done so much for the area conserving the structure and sheep breeds. - glad you had a great time

Sound's wonderful

Janis, my geography is abysmal :- " I thought you were more over to the right..er...I mean East, and up towards Scotland!

I have to cook cary all the sandwitches when out pluss all the dog stuff.

so glad you had a good time.

Sounds and looks lovely :D

One of these days ....................

it's not cheap, but I think it's well worth it for the comfort and quality, Caroline is a fantastic cook.

room 1 = £47 pp pn

room 2 = £52 pp pn

room 3 = £57 pp pn ( I think..check on the link Janis kindly put on)

The 3 course meal with wine is £25 pp and gorgeous, the home made cakes and biscuits in the room are just lovely and there is sooo much history in the cottage.

Take your cozzie for the hot tub, go on...spoil yourself

cheers-

might surprise him indoors with a romantic weekend away.... lol

you don't need to take much, there's tea/coffee facilities in your room, a hairdyer, fluffy gowns, all toiletries in the wrdrobe and nice toiletries in bathroom.

They're not liciensed but they let you put your own drinks in their fridge (cheaper that way)

no TV (for those who can't cope without one- you have to go to the pub!), well behaved dogs welcome , on rainy days you can have free access to the leisure centre 10 mins away.

Go for it !

Those are the only words I bother with! :- "

It does sound gorgeous though :D I love the Lakes and we often stay with our friend who lives next to Ullswater two/three times a year. We offer to pay for staying but he just won't hear of it so Neil often does a bit of building work for him and we bring huge joints of topside for our friend's trademark MASSIVE cooked dinners
