Geez I hope this works.

My big beautiful boofhead Penny modelling a white show slip. I can make this in various browns as well. The handle is the same flat plait as you can see on her neck.

I also make a 4 strand lead same thickness as this but with a brass or silver snap hook on it. I use them as walking leads but I know some like to use them as show leads, together with a matching choker or I can attach your favourite chain, although I think the fittings are a bit 'clunky' for that.

And here is Miss Penelope wearing her hand stitched day collar in beautiful soft but strong kangaroo hide with brass fittings.

Well I like them, particularly the day collar - and Miss Penelope is gorgeous - she makes an excellent model. Do you sell them (the collars I mean!!) and do you have a web site?

Regards Sarahj

What a beautiful collar, and lead you must be very talented!

Do you sell these and how much?

Thanks Cleopatra and Sarahj, yes I do sell them & no I don't have a web site...YET! I'm really busy at the moment trying to make enough stock for the Whippet Congress coming up in September. After that when I have some spare time I will look at setting up a web site where I will have my leather work (I make alot more than just what I've shown here) & art. I dont know if I am allowed to give prices here but if you are interested you can PM or email me.

Oh Linda, don't take offence!!! I like both the collar and the slip but didn't look at my pc much over the weekend!!!

I like the idea of the flat plait around the neck part, although I do like the round plait and, as long as it is not too thin, wouldn't worry too much about putting it on my Whippets. Am I correct is thinking that the picture is a slip lead (i.e. one long lead with a ring at the end) because I prefer the 'noose' type show slips with the little toggle that slips down to tighten it around the neck, do you understand what I mean???

The week-end has been busy (and hot and sunny :p )... I prefer a half-choke type of show lead or the Resco type.

Dessie: Wax-coated cotton slip lead with adjustable brass fastener.

Nope I only make them with the sliding ring. I dont like the other type, they aren't as fine & they work quite differently. I've had no complaints from people who use my leads, only requests for more :)

mmm, I like Penny lots  ! And the leads and collars are pretty fabulous too!

Just bumping this up again as there's been a few enquiries about soft collars lately. The kangaroo is lovely & soft but strong, I buy the absolute best quality hides available from specialist tanners, I dont use eBay for buying hides. It's a very fine hide so sits close to the neck, they are not thick & chunky like a neck brace. I hand stitch them all & pride myself on my stitching, as I make it a feature of the collars it has to be good, 7 stitches to the inch.

Feel free to PM me if you have any enquiries.

Linda

Just noticed that photo of Penny wearing her collar is over 2 years old & she still has the same collar, she wears it all the time.

I have to say; I have seen Linda’s collars at our Fun day, and they are really lovely. They look very strong and beautifully finished.

As a very satisfied customer I, too, must compliment Linda on her beautiful collars and leads, my Flynn wears his with pride.

I've just bought William my greyhound a black leather slip lead but have been looking for a white leather one for him for 2 years but coudn't get one even at crufts

Would dearly have loved to have a white one as he is white but at the moment cannot afford another :( have to make do with a black one for now

Would the slip lead be strong enough to hold a large male greyhound probably weighing in excess of 40 kilos

That depends. Does he pull? Is it just for a show lead, I mean actual showing, in the ring. If it is, then it would most likely be fine. If you mean as a proper walking lead & that he is a puller then he would need it to be quite a bit sturdier than the one Penny is wearing. It certainly could be done but I wouldn't be recommending that little shoelace one.

Thankyou Lida & Trish for your kind words, it's much appreciated.

I love really the White slip lead but I have found when using one before (that cost me a fortune) when the dog relaxes in the ring, the lead goes slack opens up and the dog can just walk out. The ones like Dessie says with the little 'hand brake' at the back are safer perhaps. I dont like to keep the dogs lead taut all the time although I always show on a lose lead.

Oooh, I'd forgotten how pretty Miss Penelope was

I'll have to control myself, as I just luuurve these collars, and they are so well made. They are as soft as silk and I am so glad that I bought them.

Here are my boys wearing theirs http://www.k9community.co.uk/forums/index....topic=19611&hl=

and I have just recently received a "natural" hide as opposed to the black ones that Linda kindly dyed for me (against her and Wendy's better judgement (w00t) )

Here is a picture of Oliver Winx modelling his at Crufts, the photographer commented on the collar, as well as the "manicness" of my whippet :- " Please excuse the look of utter stress/frustration/desperation on the boy's face, it's hard to sit still for some blooming bloke to take your pic when you are desperate to jump over him to get the BALL that your mother is holding (w00t)

I promise to take a pic of the natural collar that is so gorgeous and put it on asap :b

I have 2 sets each for my girls as well. I have 1 set permanently in the car as a spare emergency backup collar, and their other ones that they use on a regular basis for their running with Daddy, and a lot of their daily stuff.

They are FANTASTIC.
