Some of you may remember hearing of Katie's thyroid op back in the autumn. She's been doing reasonably well with her kidney disease since, but we're off to the vets this afternoon on what may turn out to be her last journey. :'( It's a really hard decision to make because, although she's getting very frail, she's still eating, seeking out the sun spots and coming for cuddles, but she has had two nasty fits this week and it's for that reason that I think it may be kinder to say goodbye now. Her appointment is at 1.45pm. She's had a lovely long life at nearly 20 and I thought I was calm about it but even writing this is making me tearful. She's been through so many house moves with us and seen a number of other pets come and go which makes it a very difficult time for us. And it'll be the first time since we got married (in 1981) that we will be catless.
