I understand where your coming from @JudyN, but i also can recommend putting some Beef Flavoured Dog Food Gravy on top of the kibble to add taste; Pets At Home. Dogs can survive without food, but never water.
 
Once a day is Harri's own choice! He's pretty much full grown now so I'm going with it. I've lost track of how much food I've had to throw away over the last couple of months because he just doesn't want to eat during the day. Overall he eats slightly less than the recommended amount for his size and age but as he's a healthy weight, bright and active and maintaining his current weight so I'm trusting his natural instincts on this.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that your way wasn't right for you and Harri - just that if a simple solution like adding a bit of wet tasty stuff means that the dog will happily eat two meals a day, all other things being equal, that is probably better than just feeding one meal a day of something she's picky about because she doesn't find it tempting.

And I'm speaking as someone with a breed that is prone to bloat, and if left alone with a bag of kibble would do his darndest to eat the whole lot!
