Any chance of a qualifier down our way Cornwall before the finals this year, :b i was disappointed to find the only show that was close to us wasn't a qualifier for next year, and that the finals had already took place. doesn't seem fare to me. but hopefully next year we will be able to make one of the lurcher world shows earlier in the year this time. :thumbsup: glade to hear you still in the game Jeff. di

I think it should of been a qualifier for next year simply because with the price of fuel and everything else people can't afford to go all over the country to different games fairs anymore, ( well we can't) :lol: most of our traveling money went on bloody vet bills this year. :rant:

These are very valid points, Di and Tish. We get left out down here in the South West

It takes us all a minimum of 2 hours or more just to get to Bristol and only then can we drive in the right direction (normally for another couple of hours or more) to get to any of the lurcher world events :blink: ....... and that's without the traffic jams

About time some of these qualifiers were within reasonable reach of us :thumbsup:

Like i tell people Jane when they say what a beautiful place we live in but we suffer when it come to the big shows because of where we live and the travelling involved sometimes,. your even luckier then us, 2 hours just to get to Exeter and on the motorway, and thats when you can get out of Cornwall due to traffic jams. :lol: would be nice if we were considered a bit, ) but don't think that day will ever come, :lol: so I'll just have to **** everybody off again next year running Leia at the local shows, :- if we aren't non ped racing. :lol: di

Those that know me are well aware that I don't post a lot on here because of all the C*** and now find myself feeling ashamed that i've been sucked into it.

Sarah & Paul; you and your hounds are a credit to the Lurcher community and regardless of what's been, being and gonna be said it is all irrelevant and your absence because of it would be a great loss.

On another note isn't it strange how an honest question posed, can lead to small minded people hijacking the thread to create an air of discontent in an otherwise calm environment??????

I think I'll now leave this thread and read something of more interest :lol:

Dont let them get you down..most of us are of the friendly not fiendly variety and enjoy the racing coz our dogs love it and in the main the people are good and honest n from what I hear non-ped n greyhound racing bitching is far far worse!!! LOL (w00t)

:teehee: a Lurcher came 1st at sanderingham finals a bloody good dog .As for the dog that came 2nd THE RESCUE was a GREYHOUND an exracer not a RESCUE just retired as i know this dog and she is only 3yrs old.So fairplay to the lurcher that beat it.:thumbsup: Bert :thumbsup:

Im Poppys owner, the dog that was reserve at Sandringham-for information she IS a RESCUE and NOT an EX-RACER-she has never raced at a track (confrimed via the Irish Coursing Club)-she was tried in the traps and was no good-her sire was Distant Fields a champion coursing greyhound and her dam Madam Rollin a track dog. She was sent to a resuce centre in Ireland by her trainer/owner Gerry McGuire and then onto the Dogs Trust in Harefield,where we rehomed her from.Hope that clarifies the situation.

3bitches and 1dog in that litter and they all have raced on the track :thumbsup: I take it Poppy was K****m***e Ann and she was unplaced in 5 races on the track plus 3 trials all at Lifford :thumbsup:
