I have just had the shock of my life....I was in town when my mobile rang. It was a neighbour phoning to tell me Fynn had jumped out of the first floor bedroom window 18 ft up approx! (w00t) At this point I didn't know what to expect when I got home, I was hysterical. When I got back, it was Archie who had fallen, not Fynn. A couple of kids had been passing and seen Archie writhing on top of a Pyracantha bush outside my bedroom window. They then saw him fall and land on his side :( . He got up, and apart from being shocked, seemed OK. We have been to the vet (thank goodness for insurance as it is out of hours!), and there is not a mark on him except a tiny split in his front pad (Pyracantha thorns). He has had a jab for pain, and is expeccted to feel a bit battered and bruised.

He must be one very LUCKY whippet

OMG What a fright! He sounds like he's one lucky lad! Hope your not too sore Archie! :huggles:

Poor Archie- what a scare

:huggles: :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

Wow what a lucky boy, i guess the bush took the brunt of the fall which saved him :sweating: :sweating: lot's of :huggles: on there way!

(w00t) Must be something about the name! My Archie threw himself out of the landing window last year, I couldn't work out how he was in the garden and then saw the skid marks on the grave path and the nail scratches on the porch roof!!! (w00t) (w00t)

Glad Archie is okay, my Archie didn't even seem stiff the next day - amazing the resiliance of this breed!

(w00t) My Archie is starting to limp and flinch a bit now.........I think he will ache tomorrow................Perhaps we should rename them Lucky!

Yeah :D or FEARLESS... or if we were being unkind perhaps STUUUUPID!!

Hope Archie isn't too stiff, give him a good rub down with some massage oil, I always use the Weleda one with arnica, it is brilliant when they have been really exerting themselves and I use it if I have pulled any muscles or hurt my back  A definite for the first aid kit!

This isn't the first time I've heard of this happening - whippets do this - they are mad (w00t) Be warned Joanna - he might do it again !- one of the others I heard about did it more than once till they learnt to keep the windows shut. :(

He is one VERY lucky boy to have survived that :sweating: :sweating: :sweating:

Yes, i've also heard of other whippets doing the same, they must be mad

Please keep that window shut Jo,i couldn't bare the thought of him doing that again,I am squirming just thinking about it (w00t)

:huggles: :huggles: :huggles: to Archie

Wow! That is scary! :( So pleased the lad is ok. :huggles:  :* Lots of :huggles: :huggles: to you Jo cos you must have been scared witless! :huggles:

Ouch, poor Archie.

Good job he landed on the pyracantha, it broke his fall.

Pyracanthas have razor sharp thorns too, got one in my garden.Have to wear really thick gardening gloves to prune it. He's lucky the thorns did'nt tear him to bits.

He's one lucky boy. Glad he's alright.

Lots of :huggles: to Archie
