ooh ! that looks really sore, hope it clears up soon, :huggles: to Kobi

one of my dogs used to get these years ago.we always used to bathe them with alum in warm water

we used to buy it in a packet from our local chemist along with flowers of sulphur and many other remedies that i think should still be available unless theyve been banned by some obscure european directive!you just put a couple of tablespoons full in a bowl of warm water and hold the dogs paw in it for as long as you can.i also used it as an astringent to get a liver and tan dobermann bitches milk bar back in shape after having pups.livers take ages to get their shape back after having pups unlike black and tans :)

The vet sold us some shampoo to bathe his foot in twice a day for as long as possible - it is Etiderm antibacterial shampoo but probably only recommended it because it was about £5

He suggested putting the shampoo and a bit of water in a plastic bag and tying it onto his foot so it got a good soaking but you can imagine what happened next :- "

I honestly think it is something to do with his diet as they do seem to flair up if he gets something with wheat in and I cannot think of anything else that would cause them as the vet always gives his paw a good feel and there is never anything lodged in there to cause it.

I'd cut wheat out for a few months, that should be real easy.

Go with your gut instinct, and cutting out wheat wont harm a bit.

How is Kobi's paw getting on? I seem to remember using epsom salts solution to bring out the infection before it burst.
