come on now john no need for all the sarcasum. ;) yous are just going to ruin this post for everybody and make a mockery out of billy. all over because a question was asked from myself to c if there will be a class for greyhounds. yous boys take this lurcher thing to the heart to much slow down. its suspose to be a fun day out for every one.

c yas all soon

leanne

sorry leanne , its got not nothing to do with making a mockery outve billy , dunno where you get that from  Maybe its best i say exactly what i think then...firstly anyone who races or trains greyhounds should come on here put this to bed before it starts to look silly. Racing greyhounds are governed by Boards which control the racing, theres are separate ones for the Uk and for Ireland which state how they should be kenneled and raced.

As some girl from england posted on here a while back Greyhounds are by law NOT allowed to be run with other dogs OR kenneled with other dogs. Maybe its got to do with them picking up viruses from other dogs then spreading thru Elite racing greyhounds..i dunno but it might be some other reason.

Also if you were there at the end of some of the shows here which sometimes is after 8pm youd see that theres just not enough time to run another class of racing (not my words..organisers words). Thats not the main issue though. heres why

and lets be realistic...it doesnt happen any where else because of the various legislations laid down by Greyhound Racing governing bodies...Youve just set off on a new career chum and id love to see it work for you, so rather than encourage you to get into trouble id like to help you not misguide you....its a pity the ones who know this stuff havent the balls to pass comment.

Retired or Rescue greyhound show classes appear now and then in England....which is always nice to see. Sadly here we dont have too many of either cos theyre passed thru the dickhead brigade then disposed of.

hope that helps you Leanne....

point taken john. you know more than me when it cums to these sort of thing. ive only just started up in this so iam just picking we bits and peaces at a time. didnt relise that you couldnt bring them to things like this. but now i no i wont ask the question again.

Haven't been on here for a while, and to be honest,i wouldn't have bothered my backside. But ive just been imformed that i have the wrong date down for the show. It'sSATURDAY the 12th of september, and not SUNDAY THE 13TH,AS POSTED.My appologies to all who are interested. Now to the shit, thats taken over this topic.A simple ? was asked,if there would be a race for greyhounds.Retired or not. This wont take place. So my appologies again,to the person in ?.Now as for legislation,in regards to racing, showing,or transporting greyhounds with other breeds. This is Ireland folks, and we're a bit more level headed over here.I can even school my dogs around the track with greyhounds if i wish, and have done.No problems with this up north.Down south, which is governed by the I.G.B.Is a different matter,as regards schooling on the track. But you can keep whatever you like in the kennels.Even a nice big blonde ,if one was available, lol. So lets put all this other crap asside, and give us a chance to run this show in piece.Cant remember, ever being at a lurcher show, where there was so much dog meal up for grabs.Or where the organisers, had a free hand out,in appreciation of support.Of whatever 15 kilo bags of meal that were left over, when the day was done.So come on folks.Give us a bit of support.Instead of this circus that's goin on here.

remember that word shit when a 1000 word essay is put on describing the inside and out of a life story when only a few words will do :D

i was told that several racing dogs were going if you did have racing, wheres the fun in that,

maybe your rules are different but yours must be the only country that does,

but this is a forum for everybody's opinion :D

Believe me.There is no one on here who would be more eager to race a few greyhounds than myself. But ive been asked to take over the racing department of this club.I think getting that off to a good start,is as much as i want to do at present.I myself, have a good greyhound bitch, who i would love to see going up the hill, with a few others,of the same breed.I dont have the authorite,to change,or add to,whatever the clubs program is.Wish i did,as yes.I would have a race for a few greyhounds.Maybe next year. When ive my roots well watered. As for now.Ive a bitch in labour. So hopefully little babies before tomorrow morning.

I raced and trained greyhounds in england for 8months and boy was it good fun i loved it, then moved back over to here northern ireland and my cousin has greyhounds he asked me to give him a hand for a few months with the greyhounds as the number of dogs he had was getting higher and higher, when i was racing greyhounds both in england and here in northern ireland i loved going to the track to watch the Greyhounds racing, and when i go to Lurcher show i love to go for the Lurcher racing. so isnt it really in the name Greyhound track to see the greyhounds race, and Lurcher show/racing , to go see the lurchers???

Billy great to hear off another show, always a good drive and a great day up at the farm, hopefully me and Martin will get a run up.

vicky. :)

it was me that said about the greyhound thing. but i never asked about raceing them. i was only asking if there was going to be a class in the showing for greyhounds lol good luck with the wee bitch

Could i just imform anyone coming tomorow,to bring wellies if youre racing,as the gateway into the field,is rather mucky.Racing is in a different field,as there was no way i would expect anyone to race their dogs up the same gallop as before.Cause it is a mess. The feild ive secured for the racing is spot on.Also like to say, that next year we will have a purpose made and maintaned race track. As we've secured a strip of land, for ourselves, and will be working on it soon as we can get it fenced off, from any animals. This will be the clubs own racetrack.Looked after by ourselves. So from next year on,we will be running a possible 3 shows. With a day or 2s simulated coursing, and racing only days.Think this is a big breakthrough for us,as lurcher and whippet enthusiasts. The owner of Barrontop Farm,is open to all of our sugestions, and is quite happy to discuss all our needs with us,at future club meetings.Believe me folks. If everything turns out as planned. This will be the number 1 show in the country,as far as prizs, and facilities goes.We aim to give the lurcher, and whippet, the same respect as the terriers have been getting for years. There has never before been a purpose built racetrack for lurchers whippets,(maybe greyhounds)and terriers.Cant do better than that.Hopefully we can attract some interest from across the water,in the future. When,(not if)this is all put together. But we ,the club.Need and appretiate youre continuous support. So thanks in advance. See u all in a few hours. ....Billy....
