Hi, my mother in law recently bought a shih tzu puppy from a woman in denton manchester. She paid £550 and picked her up. The lady told her she would send the papers when they had come back from the kennel club, but 5-6 weeks later still no papers. When they rang the woman who bred her she told them she had sent them 1st class recorded. The papers have still not been recieved and when they rang the woman again she said they were harassing her. Alls they want is the paper work. Has anybody heard of this dog who is supposed to be her father. Any help would be very much appreciated.

IF I WERE YOU ID CONTACT THE KENNEL CLUB AS THERE IS NO REASON WHY SHE SHOULDNT HAVE GIVEN YOU THE PAPERS WHEN YOU COLLECTED THE DOG :( WHY DONT YOU HAVE A LOOK ON THE CHAMP DOG WEBSITE AND SEE IF ANY SHIH TZU BREEDERS HAVE HEARD OF HER THIS REALLY DOES MAKE ME MAD  GOOD LUCK :luck:YOU COULD ALSO GET IN CONTACT WITH THE POST OFFICE TO SEE IF THERE HAS BEEN A GENUINE DELAY AS YOU KNOW WHAT THE POST IS LIKE

i had the breed and if you give her name i can see if anybody knows her your mother should have been given pedigree and kc reg when she picked up pup did she get pedigree if so tell parents kc names lynn

If the puppies have actually been registered the Kennel Club will be able to tell your mother-in-law on the phone. The phone number of the registration department is 0870 606 6750

Hope this helps.

Jackie it took the kennel club 3 weeks to sort out Button's papers I would contact them it may be they've been delayed in the christmas post.

I think I smell a rat really ... although I'd like to be optimistic and believe the breeder when she said she'd sent the stuff first class recorded delivery, she should still maybe have some proof of having done that (though maybe not everyone's like me, hanging on to every bit of paperwork that ever passes through their hands!!! )

It just made me feel a bit suspicious when the woman claimed your mother in law was harassing her - in her place, I think most of us would have quoted the registration number of the puppy to her and contacted the Kennel Club re getting copies etc. Breeders get a list of their litters' registered names and numbers, don't they, along with the registration certs? If my memory serves me correctly. (long time since I had a litter).

IMO, the breeder doesn't seem to be offering to do enough, for me to think this is all genuine ...

KC registering of puppies usually take about 10 days if everything is correct, there turnaround time isnow alot quicker.

However, if there is a problem, with names, payment, incorrect details they are likely to sit on it for a few weeks :- "

I registered my pups on the Tuesday online the next day had a letter saying my dog had been registered as the sire of a litter and on the Friday had the registration papers for the pups in the post . 4 days from start to finish. With Button it took longer as they had to check her pedigree with her being a racing greyhound

If the breeder sent the papers by recorded delivery she should have a slip with a reference number. She would have to contact the post office with the reference number to track the missing letter.

I sent Button's papers to they greyhound stud book signed for delivery the tracker number still says its not been delivered I sent it Nov 23rd and received them back a week later

Hi, thanks for all your replies. My mother in law has just told me that nthe woman never actually sent the papers to her, she jut said that she would post them the next day recorded delivery.

Sire : Lyndew early valentine

Dam: Unsure but Grandsire = Lyndews in blue genes at kardema and Granddam = Kardema Star acttraction.

These people did not breed her but aparantley a DM Munford owns the sire and shows him.

This woman is a bit dodgey as she wont accept the fact that the bitch has got a hernia and says she will sue the vet that said she had got one.

i know both lyn gildea(lyndew) and dennis mumford(denroma).theyve both been in shihtzus for years and have both bred and shown very successfully at ch sh level

Apparently the papers have been sent today first class recorded. So we will soon see what happens.

There are some lyndew shiz tuzs online one called something lyndew ribbons but i couldnt find valentine, if he has never been placed at a champ show it wont google.

They must have this kennel name perhaps they havent recieved them yet but i would check it out at the kennel club to see if any puppies have been registerd this year under their affix, thats if they will let you know such info

Good luck, :luck:
