Hi all

Went to the Glasgow uni vet hospital who treated Macey and guess what!!!

Macey does not need to go back as they said she is doing better then they expected!!!!! How good does that make us feel. Had discussions on her quality of life etc etc but the little bugger has proved everyone wrong - even the professionals!!! She is only half way through the expected time for recovery but further then could ever be expected!!!!

More vidoe soon I promised!!!

What a girl!!!!!!

It's got me thinking ....... alot of people give up on their dogs and have them PTS in situations such as Macey's, but this incredible recovery just goes to prove that nobody should EVER give up and that there is always hope, no matter how bad things can seem :D

Macey's amazing journey should be an inspiration to every owner who is unfortunate enough to have their dog suffer such an injury

Have you though about writing a short book about it ........... you would be well qualified to do so now :))

How wierd you say that the spiritalist I went to see last night said she saw me writing a book!!!

The nurse said today that every 100% we gave they will give twice as more.... If they want too!! And Macey was a tryer from the start....

We had a vet who was not offended when we researched/requested a second opinion!!!

Also we did a lot of physio (thanks to the guys here who said do physio as it does helps) and we feel it did - but there are not paper in the vet world to confirm this!!!

Also (thanks Kareen) but we really do feel the bioflow collar helped too!! The neurosurgeon agreed with us but again there were no conclusive papers/studies to confirm otherwise again!!!

I would say that we could never be where we are without the support, texts, phone calls and pm from certain members within K9 (hey I won't embarass you guys by naming you!!!) who pushed, cajouled and supported us through what has been a hard, stressful and often painful period of time!!!

What I will say is 'Never give up hope, until they do!!!' They are bloody strong and forceful little dogs!!! Believe me - I have the grey hairs to prove it!!!

I was lucky but one thing I would recommend - if you can afford it - insure your dog!!! I have had 20 years without insurance and now a bloody good job, but I have been lucky!!!

I could never have done this without certain members of K9, (you know who you are....) but you need support and dialogue to get often a balance view of things, but wihtout this supper I do not think we would be where we are now expecially to those who read my post on Monday 1st June 2009 after 8pm and chat room conversations (and that date is embedded in my memery til I die!!!)

Just the best news ever! Congratulation to you and all Macey's miracle-workers.

That is so wonderful  and Macey will never forget the love and persistence that you gave to get her through this. I'm sure it will have strengthened your bond and she will always be very special to you  . And I agree that we are very lucky to have this forum and all the amazing people who are willing to help in a crisis as well as sharing our joys and successes :)) . A book is a great idea.

Well done Macey and everyone who is helping her recovery!

it's one of the most heartwarming stories, what a babe Macey

So very, very, very pleased for you ... you and she are an inspiration :)

Annie

brilliant news  bet you jumped for joy :)

Thats wonderful news miracles do happen occasionally and some times our dogs can prove the vets wrong

2 years ago when William was hit by a car the vet was positive he would never walk on 4 legs again 10 weeks later he was completely sound again.

Great news Linda.....youve been there when Macy needed you most... :huggles:
