Had been looking at my last litters weights to give you an idea Carole. When they were born Zulo was 8oz and is now 19lb. daisy was 5 oz now 11 1/2 lb and Zac was 6oz now 16-17lb.

tetley was only about 4 and half ounce when born, dont know if he will make the weight? we will keep him anyway. i reckon he might just make 16lb im so not used to tiny ones. rio i reckon will make 28lb she was 1lb last night, tetley was still 6 and half ounces.

I don't believe you can tell with birth weights tbh, every bitch is different & obviously litter sizes plays a big part in it, i had a bitch that threw very low birth weight pups in a few litters and majority of her pups went over 30lb even when mated to an 18lber.

I'd be very surprised if the little one struggled to make the weight and of course we've all heard stories of 16lbers weighing massive amounts at birth.

Main thing is that he keeps pumping at the milk bar, i'm sure he'll more than make up for his not so speedy start

Sherry,

the birth weights of all the pups is on the low side. I've had a number of litters and birth weights don't correlate with adult weight.

I had one litter with low birth weights and those that survived turned out at what would be expected from the breeding as adults. Bobby Dazzler was 7oz at birth and is 32lb now.

It's a struggle to keep low weight pups going. Once they're over 1lb your on the safe side but anything under 9oz needs a lot of TLC in the early days. Glad to see they're both putting on weight :)

I loved seeing the pictures of baby Kez and family - her own pups look so similar in colouring.
