Here's hopinh all goes well with Jeebs and that it's nothing nasty. :luck: :luck: :huggles: :huggles:

Well I'm glad to say he's back home. :huggles:

Diane, his surgeon is pretty sure it's a Mast Cell Tumour (MCT) :( She explained that it was tethered a fair bit underneath (not a good sign) and it's location and appearance all seem to be pointing in the direction of being an MCT.

He's has a generous amount of skin removed which is under tension where it's stitched so no walkies I'm afraid for the time being.

The lab report should be due in a week which is going to be the most important thing. A Grade l being an MCT fully removed with no spread within the surrounding tissue, thankfully this is the most common type. Grade ll is an inbetween stage where additional treatment with radiation, chemotherapy and suprisingly prednisolone can produce a good outcome with survival rates being in years. Grade lll The worst but also the rarest form. With these types the cancer cells are metastising off to other parts of the body and survival is rare beyond 6 months.

I know I've been a bit detailed here but I'm hoping this thread will be useful to anyone else in the same situation in the future.

All my hopes now are pinned on the report coming back as a Grade l but I've pretty much made my mind up that if it is a Grade lll, I won't be putting his last short months through courses of chemo and radiation as his quality of life would be far more important to me. I hope people can respect this. If it's Grade ll and a favourable chance then of course I will pursue this as he could have years ahead of him and he's only 4 years old on the 1st December.

Thank you ALL so much for your messages and PM's, I'm overwhelmed how supportive you've all been. :huggles: Jeebs is currently snoozing on the sofa and being a good lad not fiddling with his HUGE bandage bless. :huggles: Fingers crossed. :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Fingers and everything else crossed that it's either a grade 1 or that Diane was wrong.

Best of luck Jeeby lad :luck: :luck: :luck:
