Jess came to me as a foster on behalf of Greyhound Gap yesterday. She's had a hard time recently, her owner died and she was left alone in the house for a while with someone just going in to feed her. She was in quite a poor state when she came into GAP's care - very thin, teeth in a terrible state and a couple of mammary lumps which needed to be removed asap.

Despite all that I can honestly say I've never known such a sweet, easy dog. She loves people, is brilliant with my other dogs, is clean in the house, walks like a dream on the lead, settled overnight with absolutely no fuss.... I could go on!

She is supposedly a whippet, but at 21" I'd guess there is a bit of something else in there.

Some not very good pictures, I'll have to try to get some better ones later:

Jess and Sophie - you can see how thin she is :(

She takes up hardly any room at all

In the background with Taz and Sophie - I just missed a lovely picture of the all curled up on the same bed

She looks so sad at the moment. What is she thinking about i wonder. Good on you for easing her pain and i hope she finds a nice home. Takes a lot of commitment to foster animals. :luck:

She's a very beautiful girl. I hope she finds a lovely forever home

Don't be fooled by the big eyes and sad expression, this little girl is one of the waggiest, most happy-go-lucky dogs I've yet to meet.

She walked in here and immediately started play-bowing to the other dogs, and she's so pleased to see anyone who walks in her tail goes like a helicopter.

I don't know what's happened over recent times to let her get into such a poor state physically, but she's so well trained and well socialised I'm 100% sure this dog has been totally adored at some point in her life.

Bless her, she looks a real sweetheart. How lovely for her to be fostered by you and your other dogs. :huggles:

ahhh bless her  , she is probably just bewildered as to why her human isnt there anymore :(

She's lovely  I hope she finds a lovely forever home soon :luck: :luck: That's nice & kind you are fostering her in the mean time :)

I'm very embarrassed to report that I have absolutely and totally 'failed' as a fosterer (again :b )

Jess has walked in here and made herself completely at home - she's slotted in with my other dogs perfectly. No dog will ever replace Molly, but having Jess here so soon after losing her has brightened us all up, people and dogs.

So - Jess will be staying here as her forever home. I just need to get her fully fit and put a bit of meat on her, poor little scrap. :huggles:

Welcome home, Jess

Fantastic News for Jess!!! :) :)

It must have been fate for you all :)

I love happy endings, what a fairy tale outcome for Jess. I have "fostered" rescue dogs as well but somehow they always become permanents.
