An unashamed brag here folks,

I am so proud to announce that my boy BLAZE won the over 23" racing championship at the midland game fair on Saturday.

He had first competed in the coursing and acquitted himself well in that to, despite the course being far too tight for such a large dog.

As this is BLAZE'S 1st season racing and coursing I have to say I am totally delighted with his achievments to date. From 8 starts he has only missed 2 finals, one due to being hampered badly by a falling dog and the other just "not quite quick enough."

From his other starts he has amassed,

Reserve coursing Champion : Shugborough 2008

Over 23" racing champion : Arbury Hall Game Fair 2008

Over 23" racing champion : Tabley Game Fair 2008

Over 23" racing champion : Petstravaganza 2008

Over 26" racing champion : Earth Dog Running Dog 2008

and of course the Midland Game Fair award.

There is a sting in the tail however as he sustained an injury winning on Saturday and so I have taken the decision that he will now not compete at the Event Office championships or any other event this year in order for him to fully recover. Therefore our summer season is now over and both Blaze and Merlin along with myself look forward to when he has recovered and our eye focuses on rather different pursuits in the field.

To all the friends old and new I met this year I wish GOOD LUCK in your finals etc.

with A SPECIAL WISH OF GOOD LUCK for Andrew Kirk in his endeavours for success in the Events Office Finals :luck:

I look forward to meeting you all in person again, hopefully before the end of the season as a spectator or if not as a competitior once more in the New Year

hes some boy that linda !! hes going to do you proud in the next few years !

cant wait to see him go again for you.

well done and keep it going

your chum john :huggles:

yes, he really did look a poor boy after the race :( What a day he had though.. it was a thrill to watch that race.. well done !! There was a kind of a blind 'dip' half way down the track which I noticed a few running dogs lose their footing at and even take a tumble :(

All the very best for a complete recover of Blazes injuries and look forward to seeing you both again.. :huggles:

 Linda ....................HUGE congratulations to you and Blaze, who was a deserved winner in the O23's............he has a very promising future ahead of him I reckon  Good luck with his recovery ............. I am sure Gary will be devoting 'bike' time to Blaze pampering lol  (w00t)

Thanks to everyone for their congratulations and best wishes for Blaze and his

recovery. Today ...3 days after the event... he seems a lot better, just a weakness there and of course lots of whingeing and looking terrible when I ask him how he feels.I think its probably just being knocked about on the rough ground and overextending ,he will have lots of R&R for a while although in true lurcher fashion he's already moaning about not going for his usual walks. Can't win can you?Still have to love em dont you!!

HELLO LINDA.. HOPE YOUR BLAZE GETS WELL SOON...THANKS VERY MUCH FOR MENTIONING ME AND MY DOGS... LOOK AFTER YOURSELF AND YOUR DOGS... SEE YOU ALL AGAIN NEXT SEASON... ANDY KIRK.
