Monty has been going to puppy socialisation classes for the last few weeks and has enjoyed every minute of it, especially the new 'best' friend he made tonight - a English Bull Terrier :huggles: my sister used to have a bully and I do have a bit of a soft spot for them, even if I don't want one myself :- "

but my boy does make me laugh, he picks the most unlikely dog to team up with, its never the shy, sensitive spaniels or collies, its always the fiesty terriers or big hairy dogs (w00t)

but tomorrow will be his first ringcraft class

wish us - and them! - luck, cos this is what they'll be getting o:)

maybe after a few weeks we'll be able to get a nice 'show dog' picture

Best of luck to Monty :luck: :huggles: :luck: - Zephyr spent most of his time at Ringcraft jumping on everyone, licking the judge and chewing all the wooden chairs the moment I talked to someone - he has grown up (a bit) since then! :b :- "

Yay, you're going to have a ball (w00t)

We're going to have an even bigger one enjoying hearing all about Monty's exploits, I'm sure :- " o:)

Best of luck for tomorrow, you will have a brilliant time, can't wait to hear all about it :D :luck:

Good luck Monty - I'm sure he'll be a star! :D

Enjoy yourselves!! That's the most important thing, you learn more that way.

 I'm sure that Saint Monty won't embarass you!!!!

Good luck Monty. :luck: Patience is the key....don't feel frustrated that he doesn't get the hang of it for the first few weeks. One five minute practice session every evening does wonders inbetween classes.

well, we've been and we're back - and both absolutely exhausted -_-

Monty was, for the first time, a bit overwelmed with what he was seeing and where he was. There was a real selection of dogs from wolfhounds to dachies, there was even a shar-pei!!

He seemed to enjoy it anyway, he walked up and down the mat a couple of times and got stood on the table a couple of times, a woman and a man looked him over very quickly, he saw a couple of buddies from puppy class but he didn't seem to recognise them

and, of course, he had to meet and greet the biggest, hairest or scariest dogs in the place (w00t)

so all we have to do now is practice loads and find a show to take him too

aww bless , so glad your both back un harmed

see , nothing to it (w00t) :D

Of course he can do the `up and down` the mat , didnt he have a professional showing him how to do it on Sunday :- "

Well done Monty ............and Alison :huggles:

he did! now I just need a professional to show ME how to do the walkie bit!

Lucky Cathie was at the show today to show me how to do the 'standie on the table' bit

it was our first match night last night, but as Monty is only 5 months he is too young for the proper show so was entered into the 'puppy walk' class, they just walk up and down the mat a couple of times and stand on the table, the judge says hello and strokes them but doesn't look over them in too much detail

he was joined by an afgan, 2 little portugese things (can't remember what they are  ) and a beautiful boxer bitch

he likes walking up the mat cos he gets to see who's in and where everyone is :p but he thinks the standie up bit when the judge walks up and down is the time that he should be trying to sit on my lap or get pickie-upies :b

he's been ok on the table before but unfortunately this time he was distracted by a couple of iggies shouting their gobs off  like he's never heard that before :- "

and he loved the judge's rosette, so much he wanted to eat it (w00t)

the afgan won :( but Monty did meet a lovely Nevedith whippet boy called Frankie so he was happy

Awwwwwww i do like your Monty, best of luck with him at the shows :luck: :luck: i,m sure he will do you proud, whatever.
