warning everyone rant alert!

Just out walking dennis and approaching us is a group of dog walkers who are obviously professional because there are over 9 dogs with them all running round.

First of all, Dennis doesn’t not cope well when he sees a large number of dogs approaching him. He will always try to avoid them by taking an alternative route.

Unfortunately this wasn’t possible in this case.

All was going ok as the dogs said hello and then suddenly one of them went for Dennis and grabbed his back end.

He came running to me and the lady shouted at the dog she was ‘responsible’ for. This is the second time this dog has done this to Dennis and last time I kept my mouth shut.

So, I told the lady this (who was going to walk away without an apology) and said that if that dog has a tendency to snap at others it should be kept on the lead or muzzled.

She told me that he was playing and that he liked to just grab onto the fur!!! As if I didn’t know the difference between playing an aggression!

Sorry for the rant everyone! It takes a lot for me to speak out and I needed to vent!

She told me that he was playing and that he liked to just grab onto the fur!!!

If she tries that again I would suggest informing her that that is not an acceptable form of play and if she continues to allow the dog to be out of control you will be reporting her to the dog warden. She should be sufficiently concerned if her livelihood depends on it.

I also find it helps telling people my dog has a really bad flea infestation and its lovely for him to get a chance to meet other dogs as most people prefer to keep their distance ...

I did say I expect to see him on a lead next time and if I don’t I will report it.

Her only concern was whether he had any puncture wounds!! I’m guessing this is because it could affect her business potentially

Her only concern was whether he had any puncture wounds

So she knows there is a risk he isn't just grabbing fur. Which is unacceptable anyway.

You might recall I posted something similar that happened to us when out with our dog. It's annoying to say the least, harmful at worse. I telephoned our Dog Warden who said if it happened again to call the Police on 999 as it's an out of control dog that could attack anything or anyone (I'm paraphrasing here). You might want to do the same, or tell this person that's what you're going to do. Some Local Authorities have also brought in measures to dictate how many dogs a person can walk at once, is yours one of these? Regardless, I don't see how one person can control nine dogs, no matter how experienced they are. I hope Dennis is OK.

Yes I do remember @arealhuman - poor Jimmy :-(

The first thing I will do is wait to see if she keeps him on the lead if we spot her again and take it from there.

Dennis seems ok thank you - he takes it all in his stride and never shows any aggression. He comes running to me to protect him!
