If you give a single point in a competition for winning a Championship Group Final or Veteran Final, plus another point for making the Superstars end of season top twelve.

Which Dog and Which Bitch would have the greatest number of points in this competition?

Some thing for you to think about!!

Got to be WCRCh NPWRCh Run at Mill, and he hasn't competed as a veteran yet. He is in my opinion the best racing dog ever. Also WCRCh Summa Breeze who also hasn't competed as a veteran yet. Both of these dogs have run in recent years - which begs the question, are dogs getting more consistent and with less injuries than dogs running in the last 40 years?

WCRCh, NPWRCh, SPCh RUN AT MILL he has raced in a very tough group (28lb group) and in my opinion is THE BEST PEDIGREE DOG TO HAVE RACED in my limited experience

Oh here's another bit of info - I only know because she is owned by friends of mine, and all of my racing dogs are her descendants - but WCRCh VC Serena was in the top ten every year of her racing career, and she raced until she was 9. Quite an achievement don't you think? She lost her Championship record to WCRCh Summa Breeze. She is 16 years old now, and still going strong!

in fact my sisters

WCRCh,VC, SPCh DEADLY NIGHTSHADE was a cracking dog, raced until the age of 8 i think...shes 10 now  she must be a contender?

It is impossible to get a definitive answer to this.

In the way that people compare, for instance footballers, Ronaldo with George Best, with Dixie Dean - any answer given is subject to conjecture given the differing circumstances of their particular era.

There is no doubt at all the dogs such as Striker and his contemporaries and immediate successors raced at a time when competition was much hotter, and the numbers entering classes was greater. A dog can only beat what it meets, so that doesn't - or shouldn't - detract from it's achievements, but direct comparisons are never going to be conclusive.

For what it's worth in my own opinion, Gracious, She's No Lady and Red Assassin were amongst the best I have personally seen, but you can't deny that for year on year results, Serena is right up there.

Edit: apologies Rob - you didn't actually ask which is the best dog, just who would have most points ..... I'll go with Serena then. I trust you DO have the answer!

I really can't think of another dog ???????????????? Was it waaaaaay before my time perhaps?

I can think of a lot of good dogs, but some retired early due to injury - I can't think of any dog that has achieved what WCRCh NPWRCh Run at Mill has.

Give us a clue Rob :teehee:

A sheer guess - but it wouldn't be Trailblazer would it?

Wow...not bad for little WCRCh SpCh Summa Breeze, not even Veteran yet :- and only 3 points behind the best all time in the Bitches and all but maybe one of the dogs :D . Can't think who it is, but would be nice if it was Hammeron as he is her Grandad  , and was truly a fantastic Whippet

RCh Serena was a bit easy for you June as she was the mum of your Dangermouse and Jane Rankins Same Again (both getting 2 points)

Don't give up yet! But no clues.

firstly i'd like to thank Rob for causing me sleepless nights, when I first saw this I didnt bother but now I find myself lying awake trying to go back over the years.

I recon Fine and Dandy would be on around 13 points so not him but could his dad Just Dandy be in the running?.
