Oh my god, for anyone who follows today's music charts, what's the big deal with Ariana Grande? I'm sorry I just don't understand, her songs in my opinion are absolute c**p and yet she spends weeks at number 1? Does anyone else agree?

Yet my favourite artist Avril Lavigne who in my opinion produces unique and great songs has just released a new album and I've heard no mention of it on the radio (radio 1 to be specific), she's released 3 songs from it and I haven't heard one played on the radio yet, the first of which (Head Above Water) was about the fact that she felt like she was dying while she was suffering with Lyme disease, while Ariana wrote about going through loads of men with Thank you, next. What is wrong with the world?!

I quite like her however, I happened to watch one of her music videos and I wasn’t impressed. She was just half naked sticking her bum out! Not giving young girls a great impression...

Oh don't get me started on music videos! Haha! Yeah most female artists/rap artists these days seem to do that, this twerking business, it looks vile!!! Not a very good example for youngsters at all!

Sorry but to me music ended around the middle of 1970.

There's still some music coming out now that I like, but I don't think they ever play it on Radio 1. I've never been able to make the switch to Radio 2 though. It doesn't matter what they play, I always have the horrible feeling that they might be about to play Moon River by Andy Williams...

I dont mind some modern stuff, odd songs come along and I like the beat or the words are catchy but on the whole most of it is drivel.

When OH & I watch Glastonbury on the telly, more and more we're fast-forwarding through bands who all sound pretty much the same, hoping to get to the decent ones (Kasabian are AWESOME!). But the Download Festival is great - even the awful stuff is good....

I love Kasabian too! 30 seconds to mars I really like too, even if their music is a bit different now....and 5 seconds of summer
I can't stand any of the the rap music, Nikki Minaj, and many others that seem to be popular these days...somehow!
Plus, please don't shoot me I am probably the only person in the world who hates Queen!

I agree, I am very selective about what I listen to!...unfortunately the reception is rubbish at work, so it's either Radio 1 or nothing because I will not listen to Radio 2!..or god forbid, radio 6! I've heard it before and oh my god so boring!!!

...Also, I love the banter etc. On Radio 1 but I wish they'd mix it up a bit more, there are songs that I hear like 4 times a day which is excruciating if you hate them!!! There should be a two time limit of playing each song in one day and they should play older stuff more...like there are some songs that were popular at one point that I liked but haven't heard since!!
