Thought it was about time i introduced my 2 new Lurchers, both of which i got before Woody passed away, he gave them his seal of approval so they stayed!

Firstly Twiggy i think about 18 months old Bed x Grey x Whip and boy is she a scruff bag!! I am a dog groomer and i confess to giving in, like the majority of my clients and i clipped all her hair off!! It was not a good look for her i admit  so now i keep her at a more manageble length as her full coat is so long she barely resembled a Lurcher. Anyway it's a long story how i ended up keeping her as to be honest she is not the sort i would have gone for both in scruffiness lol and nervous temperament, i fostered her from the guy who bred Lulu and my parents ended up taking her on to replace Gemma their beautiful saluki Lurcher. Put it this way Gem was VERY low energy and Twiggy is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY high energy so you see where this is going...she began to develop many behavioural issues which got worse and worse mainly due to my poor parents not being able to exercise her enough nor let her off and so on. My dad spoiled her rotten and this led to dominance aggression, she chewed anything so ended up being crated too much which all led to one wild Lurcher and my parents nearly coming to a divorce

I offered to re home her but they refused but few months later i happenend to rescue a teeny weeny sausage dog and her 2 day old pup form a neglect situation, sadly the pup died shortly afterwards :( and as much as my son and i fell for this hilarious Doxie i knew she was the perfect dog for my parents...so i played my cards right :- and everytime they visited they warmed to her o:) and they eventually agreed to a weeks 'dog swap' (their leaving words were 'she is not staying, we love Twiggy' etc) Within 2 days my mum text me 'she is staying'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p   on the condition i keep Twiggy myself so that's how she came to stay. After tons of exercise and following Cesar's Way to the letter, she soon became a normal Lurcher again phew!! :sweating: And Pepper the Doxie is the most contented loved pooch, she is the most comical little dog and instead of argueing my parents just laugh and laugh at her funny little ways, every home should have a Doxie!!!!!!!!! Everyone was happy except my son who was devastated his horrible evil mum swapped a cute little lap dog :clown: for the most crazy Lurcher in Manchester!!

...and then there is Zak...what can i say about him...the most docile placid loveable soppy sod :teehee: i was told he was a Grey x Collie but if he is, it gotta be 99.9% Grey 0.1% collie (hope that's correct as my maths is pants :b ) as he has inherited ZERO collie genes, certainly in both the brains and agility departments he is severely lacking, y'know one of those you throw a treat for him to catch, it hits him between the eyes, falls to the floor, Gucci gobbles it up in a flash and only then does he realise he was supposed to catch it :teehee: :teehee: -_- -_-

I got him from Lurcher Link after feeling the need to get a young playmate to entertain Twiggy and knowing Woody was nearing the end :( Zak was originally from a rescue neglect situation at 4 mths then rehomed to lovely family but they could not cope with his severe separation anxiety so at 9 months he came to stay with me...again due to following Cesar Milan's methods this was very quickly eradicated leaving no other problems whatsoever, he is a dream dog to own.

Even better him and Twiggy hit it off immediately and are best buddies and run each other ragged on walks and bike rides, they were made for each other, funny how fate works hey.

Hoping to get them both racing and into agility, i think Twiggy would excel in agility but her nerves are terrible around groups of people sadly but hoping to work on that issue and Zak would just stop after each obstacle to go get a cuddle from the judge i reckon

It's a nice change to have such active fun dogs as Lulu Gucci and Woody are/were such dependable dogs, my new business and run down house made me have to stop having a life for 4 years, so these new family members have spurred me on to make a change :)) Sorry to mention Cesar yet again but as he says you often get the dog you need not the dog you want ;)
