I studied German at high school for five years, college for three, taught it in schools for five, but I have never been to Germany. I have not used the language for over 17 years now and feel like I have forgotten almost everything I ever knew.

I have my whippet licence ... Hint, hint :lol:

Sounds like you had lovely days in Germany. I am currently on my way home from Bergamo were I judged toys and sighthounds at an open show and a pekingese specialty open show and like the Germans you met, I must say the Italians were so kind also!!!!

Someday, I would love to visit Germany and see Whippets as well as the historic sites and places. That is where my father's people were from.

LOL - I don't drink beer either but the first thing I asked for when my friend picked me up from Heathrow was a typical English lunch in a typical old English pub - and that meant beer so I had one!

of course not o , but I got a great few bits of history , including some war time stories from Joachim, when we went to Cologne . Dont forget , `he ` was not German , but Austrian
