Some thoughts for naming Molly's babies.

Two girls and a boy:-

FLORA was the Roman Goddess of Spring and flowering plants. She was married to ZEPHYRUS (ZEPH) and her twin sister was SABINE. (Botticelli painted a beautiful 'portrait' of her)

There is a beautiful white lily called the Easter LILY

HAIKU is Japanese for Spring (for a boy, pronounced Hi coo)

Ok we have made the draw ... although we did cheat a teeny bit.

First born black dog will be Leo

The other black dog is Bayard, although Jane will probably call him Bay

The blue bitch is Ash

The black masked brindled bitch is Amy

And now for the cheat ... having drawn two A names for the girls and given that we named the little girl we lost April we decided we wanted another A name and went back and fiddled with a couple of names from the list and

The blue brindle bitch is Aire

Thank you for all your suggestions ... some lovely names in there :D

Awww  Well done Molly, beautiful babies. R.I.P little April :(

Love the names, too

 Beautiful names for beautiful babies

Love the 'A' theme for the girlies.... RIP little lost girl April, gone to sleep with the angels xxx

Congratulations Molly and her helpers on the birth of a beautiful litter, all so gorgeous I dont quite know which one to pick :- ! RIP little April, gone but not forgotten, run free xxx

So sorry I missed this thread til now - what a lovely bunch of beauties. I was going to suggest a Rowan; after our precious girl.

Lovely choice of names.

I hope Molly and pups are all doing well this morning.

I like the names

How do you prouounce (sp) Aire

No offence but im glad you didnt go with the

obvious Jane and Annie ;)

Hope Mum and babes are doing well and are restful this morning xxx

Love the names xxx

It was lovely of so many people to suggest it Ann ... but Jane couldn't really have two Jane's in the house :teehee: she already has a Jinny, and Fizz was a dog, sadly no longer with her, who was very close to Jane's heart, so not a name to use again  And Bob and Sarah named one of their Winterfellin puppies Annie, in part after me, and I'm sure Molly will forgive me for not wanting to leave a string of Annie whippets behind me (w00t)

Aire came from Aries and Aero, both names that went into the hat. Originally we had just Air, so that's how we mean it to be pronounced, but it looked more like a name with the e we felt. I suppose though it could be pronounced Air-e, which I also like :)

Aire, Ash, Amy, Leo and Bay ... hope Molly likes them :)

......... It was a fiddle between Aero and Aries, but we wanted it for the girly so it's just pronounced Air, but I reckon I shall be adding a Y to the end when I call her

We had so many to choose from, didn't we!! :D

I did think that Jane was a non-starter because I just couldn't see myself standing out in the garden calling out my own name  ......... everyone round these parts thinks I'm one brick short of a full load anyway so don't want to make it worse

I love the name Fizz and it had alot of support from everyone on here but that name belongs to my collie, who I tragically lost in June 2007 at the age of only 4 :'( She was my constant companion and the last link to my old GSD, Tai, who had died 2 years previously. We never knew why Fizz died ..... she just stopped breathing and a post mortem showed no possible cause.

Run free, Fizz, my darling little girl, until we can play together again  :

Annie already has a puppy named after her from Lola's litter so another one might have been overkill

Thanks to everyone who put forward names, and also to those that were too late to go into the draw :huggles:

If I am ever struggling to name a pup again I know exactly where to look - all the suggestions are brilliant and if we could have used them all, we would have done

A lovely choice of names for Molly's gorgeous pups.  Hope all is going well. :luck:

Beautiful photos of Fizz. :huggles: She looked a gorgeous girl. She will be running free over the Rainbow Bridge.

:( I had no idea about Fizz Jane, lovely picture of her and I completely understand not wanting to use her name.

 at the idea of standing in the field shouting your own name and  at the idea of Annie with a string of little 'Anniewhippets'

Hope all is well this morning with the new little family

I guess your Beautiful Fizz is now taking care of Baby April at The Bridge... :huggles: :huggles:

Always Marry An April Girl

Praise the spells and bless the charms,

I found April in my arms.

April golden, April cloudy,

Gracious, cruel, tender, rowdy;

April soft in flowered languor,

April cold with sudden anger,

Ever changing, ever true --

I love April, I love you.

and lovely names for your beautiful babes... ( but how on earth are you going to call Air-E....and Irie.... ...it did cross my mind....)

That's beautiful Janis.

Jane may say different but I think Air-e/Airy will be fine ... Jane's dogs are like mine ... they all answer to anything

Janis's little poem

My girls do as well.....they know their names.

its me who forgets who called what......

So pleased to hear that Molly and the babies and of course Jane are all okay. RIP April baby. The three girlies should be Faith Hope and Charity, sorry nothing to do with April! Good luck with them all.
