We are home after an eventful holiday on the Thames on our narrowboat. We are always on canals, but decided to venture onto the Thames for a change - not a good week to choose!! :(

We had to moor up and stay put for a few days, and have now come home leaving the boat tied up at a lock with the very helpful lockkeeper checking it is OK. We will have to go back to it when the water levels are safe to travel.

The first week was lovely, so here are a few photos.

lovely pics  shame the weather spoilt some of it :(

love that llamas face far right

Lovely sunset pictures. Those alpacas look so comical...one of them has been trimmed and groomed within an inch of its life :p

I love the photo of the two girls. One of them looks a bit doubtful about all that water....love her expression....she seems to be saying..

....'are you sure you should there should be this much water? Do you really know where you're going?'

Don't they look gorgeous in their matching collars :huggles:

Great photos.

The alpaca's are gorgeous. My OH's Dad has just had a new baby in the 'pack' I can't wait to see him

Lovely pictures! Which whippet is which? They are both beautiful... the one on the left has the most soulful eyes

You have taken some lovely shots there Sarah, i love the sunset ones, ... stunning

Better luck with the weather on your next trip :luck:

Great pix, we had a day boat for a few years ( 17' cathedral hull). Went to launch one day to find the thames doing 9 knots. (w00t) Which lock at you stuck at. Most of the Lockies are really helpful. Lovely to see the dogs enjoying it, we had just the terrier in those days.

Yes, it was Remmy's first time on the boat. She was really good and soon got used to the routine on board. :) She did slip off the gang-plank into the water once and was hauled out quickly. They are always on the lead when getting on and off the boat just to be safe.

Beautiful pictures, especially the ones of Dolly & Remmy & Bobby and those stunning sunsets, Remmy  looks very happy on her first boat trip, :huggles:

What beautiful pictures and those gorgeous dogs - all three

Will you be allowed to finish your holiday once the water has gone down?

Thanks so much for sharing your trip with such excellent pictures

OH is hoping to go down next week and get the boat home if the water levels have dropped enough - we just have to wait and see. :luck: :luck: Luckily as it is our boat we can holiday again later in the year, but I don't think I fancy going onto the Thames again in a hurry. :- " :- "
