just got back after a walk thats scared me out of 10 years growth! (w00t) took razzle for her usual walkies and met a nice lady who has a gorgeous black and white rescue greyhound called daisy.we stood chatting while razzle and daisy had fun running round playing chase(razzle chasing daisy!)anyway razzle took off across the field and disappeared. for ages!i shouted her, whistled, called her everything, not a sight nor sound.i was getting really scared.across the field through some woods and youre on a main dual carriageway thats just been built and my first thoughts were shell head for home cos shes lost, but that scared the living daylights out of me cos i know this road theyve just built is dangerous as they speed all the way up to the motorways on it so i thought if shes headed for home.....my heart started pounding and my mouth was dry and i had an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach. :( the lady was running up to the farm to see if she could see her and i went across the fields shouting her though tbh i was losing my voice as panic was setting in.shes never done anything like this before.she always keeps me in her eyesight and never runs off.some men walking down the path then found a little red harness on the path where shed cut across to the fields and that really scared me cos she always has her harness on when off the lead,so i was wondering how on earth shed got it off.after what seemed like ages of running round shouting whistling etc the b*****y little horror came walking back tail up,like nothing had happened.i scooped her up into my arms and told her off for running away.couldnt really tell her off cos i was so relieved to see her again :huggles: (i had visions of her lying splattered across the dual carriageway) :( brought her straight back home as i felt really ill with the worry of it all.my stomach feels queasy with all the adrenaline running around. :x i could do without a scare like this again :sweating:

Little bugger  Was she muddy Kris - has she been down a rabbit hole or something? I can totally sympathise it's a horrible feeling and finding an empty harness cant have been very encouraging. Glad she's back safe and well, and I hope she doesnt do that again (w00t)

Leia has done that to me once too often and she's firmly on a lead unless we are somewhere that is escape proof now. I go through being furious (with her for ignoring me, and with myself for being so stupid as to 'trust' her) then panicing then just totally relieved to find her.

You have a nice glass of wine

glass of wine,i need some valium! :sweating: shes always muddy so dunno if shed been down a rabbit hole but somehow i doubt it at the moment shes too bloody fat to get down one! (w00t) oh dont get me wrong shes fit as a butchers dog but hubs keeps giving her titbits,so her waistline is increasing somewhat! :b

should have seen her at the cheshire game fair yesterday.she was in her element.mud everywhere, tons of it!she was in heaven!

Rae when she came sauntering out of the bushes i didnt know whether to hug her or kill her!but i was so relieved to see her.it seemed like hours since shed been gone but i guess it was just minutes.im just glad she came the way she did and didnt go to the main road. :sweating:

ehh gods kris i feel for u! our dana did that too me once. im glad u got her back safe and sound, give her a squish from me

Sauntering

Yes I can just imagine that, wondering what the fuss was about. Have you seen those collars that work with a sat nav type thing to tell you where the dog is? A fortune (£200 quid I think) but at times like that I'd pay it. (And probably useless if she is going to come out of her harness  )

'bout time we had some new photos of the little minx

 heres a pic of her being bathed after another muddy walk! :) sorry no new ones yet,we took some last time we went the beach but jacs not downloaded them yet.im going to take some of her when shes asleep cuddled up next to Tess. :huggles: i didnt know about those collars.might be worthwhile investing in one cos if she got lost id advertise a reward more than that to get her back so i suppose it might be a good investment,i felt sick to my stomach tonight when i thought id lost her :(

em,ive given her a squish from you! :huggles:

glad razzles fine :huggles: ,arent they just a worry :sweating:

I'm glad the little horror o:) came back safe & sound, don't they scare you to death at times? Rafferty has taken himself off home a few times, he just gets it into his wooly head that he's had enough & off he goes (w00t)

Luckily he doesn't have to cross any roads to get back home but it still scares me witless.

Lets hope she doesn't do it again eh??

Julie.

Razzle how dare you (w00t) scare your mam like this....Dont do that again....

of course she has forgiven you already... :huggles:

£10 says she's seen a rabbit, it's heaving with them on the other side of that path. She's at that age where she's challenging anyway, might be worth telling Dad to stop the titbits and use them to reinforce her recall. In fairness she's only short and I suspect she's used to the whippets guiding her back in when they've gone free running. Probably gave herself a bit of a fright too. :huggles:

I'll upload beach piks tomorrow as photobuckets been down.

What an awful shock for you (w00t) This has only happend to me once (with Evie @ 6 months) and I can still feel the fear, shock, anguish and terror the voice going, trying to whistle and call her back. She too was heading to a main road (w00t)

Then when they do reappear you don't know wether to cuddle them or shout at them

Thankfully you had a happy ending as we did and it has never happend since, think they had a fright too, gosh don't they put us through it eh !!!
