Thank you it’s not nice when you lose them is it.Hi and welcome, I have an oldie too, and so sorry for your loss earlier this year..
Rusty was 13 and a half so I knew he was not going to be around for many more years but it was very sudden he had lost weight and so we had blood tests done and they showed his liver enzymes were extremely high so the vet wanted to do xrays immediately which sadly showed a growth near his liver so we had no choice as he was in pain. Pepe was12 and a quarter but he had been unwell for nearly 2 years starting with problems with his white blood cells which were successfully treated over several weeks with antibiotics he then developed anaemia and was on steroids for 10 months under a specialist vet and then he developed cataracts which led to glaucoma again treated under a specialist eye vet this time who also diagnosed kidney disease. We were forever at our own vets as well but he just got worse and worse and stopped eating so we had to say good bye to him as well. We did the best we could and kept him comfortable and happy so we could do no more. I miss them so much but we have decided to have a break now before we get anymore.Loosing a dog is awful but loosing two in the such a short space of time is just beyond awful.
Wishing you peace and solice in the happy memories of your beautiful dogs.
