Sadly I only have the one on the right of the picture as you look at it his name is Pepe. I lost Rusty in May this year as he had a growth near his liver. He was 13 and a half and I miss him terribly. Pepe also has lots of health problems including glaucoma and kidney problems so is on a lot of medication. He is 12 years old.

Oh, that's sad. I hope Pepe has plenty of happy days to come xx

Thank you I hope so too he is happy at the moment even though he has only a little sight in one eye due to cataracts which led to the glaucoma and sees a specialist eye vet regularly.

My first dog was an apricot poodle.

I have had six toy poodles during my lifetime starting when I was a small child and my parents bought a white one.

Hi and welcome, I have an oldie too, and so sorry for your loss earlier this year..

Hello lovely to see new members. We are fairly new to the forum and enjoy all the posts.

I am sorry to say I have now lost Pepe his kidneys were failing and we lost him 8 weeks ago on November the 8th so that’s both my gorgeous boys gone. Needless to say I am heartbroken.

Thank you for your kind words I am hoping that as time goes by it will get easier but I feel so devastated that I lost both of them within 6 months of each other.

Im so sorry to read your last post, everytime i read of a owners loss of a much loved pet i have a big lump in my throat because we have been there so very sad

Loosing a dog is awful but loosing two in the such a short space of time is just beyond awful.
Wishing you peace and solice in the happy memories of your beautiful dogs.

Rusty was 13 and a half so I knew he was not going to be around for many more years but it was very sudden he had lost weight and so we had blood tests done and they showed his liver enzymes were extremely high so the vet wanted to do xrays immediately which sadly showed a growth near his liver so we had no choice as he was in pain. Pepe was12 and a quarter but he had been unwell for nearly 2 years starting with problems with his white blood cells which were successfully treated over several weeks with antibiotics he then developed anaemia and was on steroids for 10 months under a specialist vet and then he developed cataracts which led to glaucoma again treated under a specialist eye vet this time who also diagnosed kidney disease. We were forever at our own vets as well but he just got worse and worse and stopped eating so we had to say good bye to him as well. We did the best we could and kept him comfortable and happy so we could do no more. I miss them so much but we have decided to have a break now before we get anymore.
