We went for a good long walk this afternoon around the reservoirs above Glossop. It was a lovely bright day, the dogs enjoyed themselves & it's Raffertys 5th birthday today. Here are a few pics-

Enjoying the view

O.H. with fingers in ears cos all 3 dogs were barking & he's feeling fragile with "man flu " (a bit of a sniffle) :- "

Last One- Trying (and failing) to get them all looking the same way and staying still, this is the best out of about 10 efforts (w00t)

Lovely pics JT - we did exactly the same on New Years day - isnt it a smashing way to start the year.

Great pictures.

Lovely pics - love your explanation of "man flu" (bit of a sniffle) it's sooooooo true

Lovely pics and HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAFFERTY

Nice pictures. I wonder if I'll ever bump into you. I think those are the Longdendale reservoirs? It's very dramatic moorland scenery around there isn't it? I love it!

I was only saying in another thread how stormy, dark skies give off lovely light (inbetween showers). I think your first photo demonstrates the colours nicely.

Love your dogs......

Hi, I've just popped over from the whippet forum and found your post. Which reservoir was that? I live in Tintwistle but only ever go around Bottoms or sometimes Valehouse - I didn't recognise where you were - is it one of the higher reservoirs? Like Nicola may see you around one day, I have a brindle/white whippet.

Yes we were on the Longdendale trail, we only really go round here at Christmas when weve got more time. There are 5 reservoirs altogether and we walked round the middle 3. Parked at the main car park opp the marina. Do you think we could organise a mass K9 Norteren walk around here like they did in Bristol last year?

Great idea. What time of year would be best? It would be a shame not to, as we all live so close, relatively speaking.

We do mass greyhound walks every month organised by White Lodge kennels (Leicestershire) and they are always well attended, there were about 25 dogs on New Year's Day. It's a great way for dog's to socialise and people to problem solve, or just chat :) Definitely to be recommended - if someone can be bothered to organise them :- "

Great pics BTW.

I think a mass K9 walk around the Longdendale trail is a great idea. Any time between now & Easter would be good for me. The agility season starts then & I don't get any free time. Would enough people be interested in getting together?

I'm up for it  We could start by picking a date and take it from there. Maybe if we start a new thread this will catch more attention.

Just caught up with this thread again. Sounds like a great idea! I'd love to meet up with people from K9. I'm not working so can make nearly anytime between now and Easter although I'm away 1st weekend in Feb and half term week. Realised where you were JT after looking at the pictures again - I could see the sailing club in the background!

O.K. lets decide on a date and then start asking whos interested. It will have to be a weekend as I work Mon-Thurs. Dates I CANT make are 18th Feb or any weekend from 15th April onwards. I will start another thread in General dog discussion. It will be nice to put faces to names.
