theres pros and cons with this. the track @ north notts and derby is better than the one @ swallownest so i know where id prefer to race @. yes it possibly will be a bit risky leaving your caravan unattended but if u want to camp then @ least there is a venue 4 u to do so, u dont have to camp if u dont want 2. when the presentation was done on the field @ worsc people complained there was no atmosphere etc, yes i know a lot dont camp but a lot do. years ago when we won the english derby no limit with mickey whizz it was @ newton aycliffe we didnt camp but we drove back thru (1 hours drive) for the presentation i can c both sides of it, but becoz i will b camping id prefer the presnetation 2 b in the club if i wasnt camping and i was lucky enuf to win id ask someone 2 collect my stuff for me or id ask b4 i went home if i cud have it. like i say i can c all points. im just glad that the champs can still go ahead. imagine if they cudnt get anywhere else @ such short notice?

just to put all your minds at rest regarding safety my friends husband is going to stay on the field he is happy to spend the afternoon watching the football on telly

as for presentation it will be done in the evening at Swallownest its a very busy weekend and will be too much searching through boxes of trophies to find any individual one there will be a trophy available for the pics and you will receive your bags of Alpha at the track

hi Shane this is the NNWRF WHIPPET RACING STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS which is one of the big events you must be members and dogs must be registered in order to race closing date for memberhips/registrations is 21st May

Dogs must be experienced racers and race clean with no interfering/tackling , wear muzzles and race from whippet traps

all new dogs wanting to race with the NNWRF have to be cleared and receive a schooling pass before they will be accepted for entry

Well I think it's a bloody lovely track and it looks to me like everyone's doing their best to please. We'll just have to cheer extra loudly at the winners on the day if we can't be there for the presentation.

No smarmy remarks about my loud gob! :p

Hi Shane the Midland game fair at WESTON PARK is a Lurcher event it has nothing to do with the non-ped whippet racing opens

the NNWRF is an organisation within the non-ped whippet racing we stage a number of straight and bend events around the country , you have to be a member and your dogs have to be registered with the NNWRF in order to race at our events, all new dogs, pups and yearlings have to be schooled and cleared for racing to prove they can race clean without causing any interference in a race, this is done at the whippet racing clubs to which whippet racers belong

as for the forthcoming event the NNWRF STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS this is an annual event open to members and regisred experienced dogs over 12 months of age. Not wishing to offend anyone here but It is unlikely that your dogs would be accepted for racing at this event if they have not raced at a non-ped whippet open or club before

the NNWRF rules can be found on the NEW NATIONAL WHIPPET RACING FORUM on K9 or if you would like any more info please feel free to tel me on

01925 758640 (day time) or 07896362874 (evenings)
