He / she is doing just fine.He goes out into an aviary in the day time. He loves to bathe in a shallow dish (he soaks himself ) and then he will sit in the sun to dry out. He loves human company and often has l o n g conversations with himself when being ignored. He has not yet learnt any human words, (maybe he will maybe he won't) we will have to wait and see. He is quiet capable of feeding himself but dose still beg for food, and loves to take his raw chicken from our fingers. He is not happy in the aviary when it is wet and windy,(he has a nice sheltered end) so some days he comes back indoors early. We leave him out as long as possible but he comes back in every evening and "pigs out" on more chicken.
His medium size dog crate is his home and security, this goes out with him in the day, into his aviary with the crate door open and back in at night with the door locked.
If he gets out while in the kitchen he makes such a mess with anything that be thrown onto the floor. And of course he has no care about where he shits. All of the dogs respect him, he often opens his cage door (if I do not latch it properly) and he is quiet happy to end up on the floor with the dogs, or up on the cupboard..

That made me laugh... sounds a bit like me! How fab, and what a character, I love also that the dogs have a natural respect, though that doesn't surprise me!.. brilliant, thanks for the update

We call him "Bertie" but if he ever laid an egg we would call him "Gertie"

We have various corvidaes in the garden daily ...none of the dogs mess with them but they hate pigeons

Our "Bertie" the magpie has just been given his first pigeon. It was a very fresh road kill, still warm and feathers still flying about all over the place.
Husband says, Bertie approached it with caution and inspected it well. There are now pigeon feathers all over the bottom of his day time aviary and on the end of his beak. He has made a nice hole in the side of the bird, (although some of this damage could have been done by whatever vehicle hit it). He is starting to peck at the blood and meaty area, and is having great fun trying to catch the flies that are being attracted to the carcass.

Oh Judy, you are guessing correctly
He goes out in the day time. His dog crate/cage/home (that we bought especially for him) goes out with him too but the door is left open while inside his aviary.

No, he is imprinted on humans and could be quiet dangerous.
He is actually "Vermin" and will raid nests with eggs and kill young birds. Not sure if he should be released any way
