Hello guys- just thought i'd let you all know that i was waiting for my whippet pup or two in the new year. Well...

Recently a woman came to the vets with her pup- she had got her when she was 5 weeks old- all siblings had died! Bred from farmer- looks like a lakeland x border or irish terrier.

Well this lady was moving as her house was condemed and couldnt take dog with her, who is now 5 months old. So i said i would come visit her at home.

Me and OH fell in love with her instantly of course... She had not been for 1 walk, not seen any dogs, been fed on cat food, and given no rules at all

But she's been with us for 2 weeks and seems to have been here for 2 years! Absolutly amazing-

started all the socialisation- getting better every day with dogs- becoming less timid. Getting gentler with cats too. Sleeps in crate at night and for some peace from cats.

Just wanted to say BIG thanks to everyone that has offered advice for me about whippets, you never know how things will turn out really. Hopefully in the years to come i can still get my whippey, but at the moment our 'Flo' is just perfect.

Thanks again everyone xxx

ROTFL (w00t) (w00t)

All the best with your little girl :luck:

Maggie, lucky you! I would love a terrier, and everyone knows that hounds and terriers go great together!

Mr F, great pics, very nice dog

Flo looks like Mr F's doggy but more like an irish terrier- lots of beard and muzzle hair! Must post some pics- got to get OH to sort it out! She's light red/tan all over, lovely dark eyes and nose- imagine a teddy bear!!! (w00t)

Or the doggy in the window, or tin tins 'snowy'- but red colour!

When we went to visit her in the her home- it was about 12 degrees- colder than outside! House smelt of cat pee and gerbils... :- "

And the lady looked in a state- really sad actually as they obviously couldnt afford a nicer place, and lived in a caravan that was condemed. So Flo was to say the least a bit 'untrained' as this lady didnt know anything about dogs- she informed us that when you shout 'puppy!' in the dogs face she would go mad- wouldnt blame her!! :b

So thats why we are sooooo glad she has settled quickly- at the moment she resting in her open crate near our open fire- warm at last!

Now i cant wait for her to grow into a little bossy terrier so she put us all in our places

then we can get a whippey just to stir things up a bit...
