After being dominated by an agressive cocker spaniel  I vowed never to have a dog again.

My 9yr old daughter was so desperate for a pet 'I'm the ONLY child in the world without a pet' :( + 'at least I'll have something to love' :( (pressing all the right buttons) a guinea pig and tropical fish wouldn't do, eventually I have given in to her and O.H. and after much research - deciding a whippet would best suit us I have done a complete U-turn and........... we shall collect ELLA - Collooney Cracka Down (Barney and Lilly - parents) on Saturday (w00t)

She is   may I say a HUGE thankyou to VIV and RUSS for letting us be her new family and especially to Russ for minding her for us 'til we're ready, and thanks to Dobe o:) for being the pretty model that swayed us to choose our brindle, white tipped cutie !

Thanks to all K9ers for valuable info and advice shared on here

Julie D :D :D

Good Luck :luck: and absolutely Fab choice of name

:luck: :luck: Good luck with your new pup Ella   - you have definitely made the right decision getting a Whippet.  Plenty of pics please.

wow, you must be so excited!! And I'm not surprised Dobe proved such a good model because she is one of the most gorgeous-looking whippets  and so photogenic.

 Here's a glass raised to ELLA, and we'll want lots and lots of puppy-pics

What a wonderful choice you have made, I can't wait to see pics of your new girl Ella

keith n ruth

You'll wonder what you did without one now.

ENJOY :)) :)) :))

Keith How's your little girl settled in ?

The small collar we bought was massive , even on full grown May, Russ's dog. Did you get a little collar to fit ? Are you feeding her raw meat ? I've delegated that job to my husband but I can do scrambled egg !

Got new digital camera but the booklet is 180 pages long (all in English) :(

any more photos of yours ?

How thrilling for you and your family - it only seems like five minutes since we were waiing for our little baby whippet to arrive - prepare for a tornado to hit your house - whippets are very lively little puppies!!

Best of luck and can't wait to see the pix when you have worked out the new camera!!! :luck: :luck: :luck:

Congratulations on Ella :D She sounds a sweetie, as are all whippet puppies o:) o:)

Get her a little material collar (cat or small dog) this will be fine for her until she grows big enough to fit into her proper collar

Good luck :luck:

It took me a while to give in to my OH to get a dog, if i had known what I know now i would have had whippets years ago, still, better late than never

Good luck with Ella and please post lots of pics :luck: :luck:

Hi Julie D

Good luck with Ella, we have her sister we've called her Keira, she's a fantastic little charactor,

would love to see some pics of her,

Rachel

Hi Julie,

Ella's had her first Jab Yesterday and seems totally unafected :D

She's a right handfull and has really taken to her Aunty May.

Mum Loves her to bits so when you come to collect her on Staurday you might have a fight on your hands!!

Russ.

 thanks Russ,

we're off to the vets now to get her tag and book in for the 2nd jab, cupboards are full of doggy things and later tonight the freezer will be full of little frozen parcels of minced raw meat

see you Saturday !

Hello there Julie, jill has settled in very well thank you, she does all her toileting outside, and is great friends with our golden retriever sally, as for a collar julie funny as it may be, we bought a cat collar just to get her used to lead training, and she's doing ok on it, as to what we are feeding her, you name it she will eat it, as for photos ive loads, ive even videod her, but can i get em up on k9 nope i cant, i havent much patience anyway, perhaps one day, have you actually got your pup julie, i thought it was this saturday you was collecting her.

Oh by the way, she's learned a little trait, every time i sit down, she comes to my side and pinches my hanky out my pocket, lol.

keith and ruth

;) hi so glad your pup is settling in well I have had whippets fot 40yrs and wouldnt have any other they are faithful, loving and a bit of a handful thats why they are so lovable I myself race ours but they are still (our Boys) my old sam is now at stud and every time I go to see the litters I am tempted to have one but you have made the right choice all the best in the future

soooo exciting !!!!!

we are going to see a litter of 3 pups on Sunday. They are only 3 weeks old and we already jumping up and down with excitement!!!

how we will be on the countdown to collection day?!!

i have waited 15 years for a pup so i am enjoying every moment, even the looking forward to her arrival - oh and all the shopping that i am doing for her!!

good luck with your new baby - enjoy every day and take lots and lots of pictures (please!!)

Good Luck with Ella  - bet you cant wait. Im a bit biased mind - with Russ's dogs - they are extra special.

(That big birthdays coming up soon Russ for Milly's litter) :D

Tracy, 5 weeks will go eventually for you, we've been waiting ages and now the time has come, just enjoying my last few days of peace in the house (w00t)

can't wait to see Sophies face when she gets what she's always wanted :D

Janis, I thought you had Veredon pups, they're lovely

got to go to bed now - just been thro' 110 pages of Mark (Parkstone) thread - it's addictive

(w00t) (w00t) SHE'S HERE AT LAST !

Ella slept like a baby most of the way home from Russ's  wasn't sick or wet in the car, has investigated the garden. I had to nip out to take Sophie to Brownies party, only gone 20 mins and OH let her have her collar off and she was snuggled up on the sofa, she's also been chasing butterflies as it's a beautiful sunny day and been lounging on the inflatable chair 8) o:) she's made herself right at home.

Sorry to be cruel to all K9ers but I have not sussed out the photobucket just yet ! but we can tell you she's even more  than we'd ever imagined !
