I've not been around for a while because we were having some health problems with our youngest greyhound, Maddison. He started with an intermitent limp back in April (end of April) and went through various tests including four lots of x-rays and two biopsies before he was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of fibrosarcoma. The final diagnosis came on 23rd June and at that time, he was very poorly. The vet and the specialist were talking about 'days' but Maddison picked up and had a really lovely few weeks, eating what he wanted (after some drugs to boost his appetite), going to nice places, playing a little bit and snoozing.
Early yesterday evening, I felt that something had changed but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. Later in the evening, he was trying to change position on the settee and he really hurt his leg (the cancer was in the femur, left hip and surrounding tissue). He was unable to walk and we had to make the call to our vet.
At about 9.30pm last night, Maddison went to The Bridge, to wait alongside our other angels, until we all meet again.
