I was in Tesco looking at birthday cakes for Zoomie and thought both 'Dougal' from the Magic Roundabout and the Spiderman ones were great.

What do you think?

I personally thought the Tesco's Finest triple chocolate gateaux looked the best but the chances of me sharing that with anyone are nil.

Also, where on earth can I get a cowboy outfit for an IG. I've ASKED in every toyshop in the city and just got the same old blank look....... :teehee:  :- "

Asda do a super-duper chocolate fudge cake that cuts into about 16 pieces  We got one of those to take to dog training for Polly's 3rd birthday in March and everyone said it was scrummy! Failing that I think Spiderman is more Zoomie. Or a plain cake with a bought crown on top? :teehee:

I guess if you ask Zoomie, he'll vote for a home-made liver cake with a nice creamy icing though.

Did you ask him???? When is the Royal birthday? Hope Milly lab has a deep purse after the pearls he bought for her :D

Didn't Blue Peter make brill dog food cakes?

I vote for Spiderman, although the crown idea is very good.

I think spiderman is the right choice. Mind you if he is inviting all his K9 fan club the chocolate cake might be a better option.

If you have an Asda anywhere near you, they do fantastic photo birthday cakes.  You take in a photo, they resize it and print it onto an icing sheet, place it on top of a lovely iced sponge cake and 20 minutes later you collect it!! And all for £8.86 - a BARGAIN!!!! :p How about a photo of your beautiful portrait of Zoomie??

Here are my little boy and his best friend's birthday cakes - he is dressed as Peter Pan and she is Tinkerbell as they were having a joint fancy dress party.

What fantastic cakes. They both look brilliant in their fancy dress costumes too. :huggles:

That's amazing! Twenty minutes (w00t) I don't usually go to Asda, but that would be worth it

Cody and Sophie look divine as Peter and Tink :huggles: Did they have a good time at the party?

Mmm, I'd go for chocolate cake, Fiona. Sounds yummy. There's a lovely homemade biscuit website that I've bought from recently if you want to add some peanut hearts or some Italian Job bone-shaped biscuits to the occasion  go here: Dixie's Delights I can thoroughly recommend the quality of the baking and the ingredients are really wholesome, fit for humans even though they're dog biscuits.

Ooh, I can't wait to see photos of the Zoom-Party :D

Wow thats a great idea (the photo cake) I shop in Asda too 12 miles from us and I havnt seen those yet.

Will ask now.

Zooommie pictures Yey

Yes they had a great time - here they are about to blow out the candles!

BTW - just a reminder to anyone who tries Asda - the only downside was that I phoned up the day before to check that they had plenty of cakes in but when we arrived they only had ONE  - so we had to race to another Asda for the other one at the last minute!

But it all worked out all right in the end!

Hope Zoomie has a great party - love Star's cake too!

:D Oooo all those cakes and cake-suggestions sound fabulous!!!!

Zoomie's birthday is a week on Saturday (August 13th). I've got one of his presents ready to wrap and just need to find him something else small. His main present is being polished for the big day and of course there's his portrait. Our house now looks like a stately home (I wish) with all the family portraits on the walls except the humans'. Maybe I should start painting humans. bleaughhhh.

As for the costume, I haven't started one yet :b ....... although I've just had a brilliant idea that involves half a tennisball and some sticky-backed plastic....

....off to do some constructing  :- "

have you seen www.petlondon.com they have several fancy dress costumes for doggies (in Apparel then Fancy Dress) including a crocodile outfit!!! There is also a wedding dress and tuxedo outfits (maybe if Gucci and Zoomie ever get married!!!! (w00t) :b (w00t) :D )

Asda photo cakes are great, but we also had a nightmare actually getting it done - worth it though when you bring the cake out and see everyones faces (w00t)

I work at Tesco so buy most of my stuff there (staff discount  ), love their cakes

Just be warned, if you buy spiderman cake, don't actually give any to Zoomie - we got our youngest boy a buzz lightyear cake from Asda some years ago, and one of our naughty whippets knicked some from the side - we didn't know who had done it until the next morning - Sunny whippet produced some bright blue poo :- "

our family has always had chocolate cake since - less colouring, less left lying around

I think it's going to have to be home-made strawberry and cream sponge for the hairlessish folk and the more hirsute among us (not forgetting Bilbo the wooly poodle) having livercake!

(Can you imagine Zoom with a belly full of sugar - he'd not just be bouncing off the walls he'd be a tad skittish too (w00t) :clown: :teehee: :teehee: )

Another Iggie :)

This was a beef spounge with peanut butter icing. The platters of biscuits were from Happy Yappys. Flavours like cheese & garlic, bacon, liver. All sugarless and the icing was yoghurt. Drinks were puppachinnos with liver sprinkles
